We present to you Cambodia’s first genre specific film festival: Cambodia Horrific Film Festival. Horror movies. Horror game activations. A cross between halloween and your average dose of netflix and chill. Specialising in horror, our entire team has fully dedicated themselves to bringing you an experiential film festival. For this first edition of the Festival, we are vivifying the horror genre by providing interactive experiences and the best selection of horror movies, both local and international.
Fully aware of the wide scope of what qualifies as a “horror movie”, our screenings will range from: supernatural horror, thriller horror, psychological horror, horror mystery, gore horror. We also present to you a series of workshops for aspiring filmmakers, a Haunted House run by Escape Room, a virtual reality booth, a Haunted Tour, Haunted Hotel, and a showcase for the winners of our competitions.
Yes. You will have the chance to compete in one of four competitions. Starting from September, you may compete in our Film Making Competition, Horror-themed Food Competition, Small Business Decorating Competition, or a Costume Competition. When you submit a film, the film becomes eligible for all of the awards in all of the categories. You must supply the names of the production team members, cast and designers carefully, as this information will be used to determine the nominees.
We accept films in all languages. If your film is in a language other than English, please include subtitles.
Feature Film submissions fees will start from 10$ for early deadlines for this year as it is the first edition of the festival. Shorts and VR films will be free of charge.
