2017 Film Competition Call for Submissions. The Reel East Film Festival is looking for more exciting and unique visions to present to a fresh regional audience. Our third annual event will take place on Oct 6th- 8th- 2017 at the Rohrer Campus of Camden County College in Cherry Hill, NJ. We will also be holding a second event later in 2017 and all submissions will be considered for that as well.
We are seeking narrative, documentary, experimental or animated short and feature film submissions for inclusion in one of our "in competition" screening categories. International submissions are also welcome.
Once again we will be featuring a Regional category for best film made in New Jersey.
We are also looking for student submissions for our "Best Found Footage Horror Short" competition. Films must be 5 minutes or less and must be in the "found footage" format:
Per Wikipedia: "Films in which all or a substantial part of a fictional film is presented as if it were discovered film or video recordings. The events on screen are typically seen through the camera of one or more of the characters involved, often accompanied by their real-time off-camera commentary." Prizes will be awarded.
Short Films must be less than 40 minutes to qualify.
Feature films must be at least 60 minutes
Student films from colleges and Universities worldwide are also invited to submit. The short film and student short film programs will be in competition for several awards including an Audience Award to be presented on the day of the festival.
