The Phnom Penh International Film Festival is an annual non-competitive festival held every year in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

Our goal is to showcase new feature films, documentaries and shorts from all over the world and to inspire a growing Cambodian audience of movie lovers, that have been without a steady movie industry since the genocide in the 1970's and bring them the best of world cinema.

We are inviting all film makers to submit their films, as we'll be running our 5th edition of our highly popular film festival for a period of ONE MONTH in May 2018. Selected films will be screened in rotation with others for at least one entire week at our venues.

The official main venue of the festival are The Flicks Community Movie Theaters in Phnom Penh.

Last year's edition featured a total of 90 films, screened over a period of 20 days.

Rules & Terms

All films must be in English or provided with English subtitles.

We only provide submission fee waivers to residents of countries who don't have easy internet payment access due to economical or political sanctions and are very selective about them.

Phnom Penh International Film Festival does NOT CONSIDER films that require SCREENING/RENTAL FEES.

Entries can not have a theatrical run (commercial release) or be broadcast (TV) anywhere in the world before January 1, 2018. Previous screenings at other film festivals, as well as private, industry, and press screenings are OK.

FORMAT: All films should be uploaded onto Vimeo.com with a provided password and/or enabled for download from FilmFreeWay.com. PPIFF does not accept Dropbox or MEGA uploads, YouTube links, or anything else, due to limitations to internet downloads in Cambodia. We do not accept any applications by postal service.

If selected, all commercial/private property including all trademark/copyrighted materials shown or recorded on the project is the responsibility of the filmmaker. PPIFF will NOT take responsibility for any infringement of copy written materials.
