<Jeju Global AI Film Competition 2026>

The Jeju Global AI Film Competition is an international competition held as an official pre-event of the 2026 Jeju International AI Film Festival (JJAIFF), organized by the Jeju Content Agency and Jeju Special Self-Governing Province.

The competition aims to discover outstanding AI-generated audiovisual works from around the world, promote creative innovation through generative AI technologies, and provide creators with opportunities for international exposure, networking, and screening at a global festival.

Selected finalists and award-winning works will be officially screened during the 2026 Jeju International AI Film Festival, scheduled to take place in Jeju Island, Republic of Korea, in September 2026.

<Competition Sections>

1. General Section : Open Genre
Fiction / Non-Fiction / Art & Culture/ etc

2. Jeju IP Special Section
Special competition categories based on intellectual properties, stories, characters, and cultural assets originating from Jeju.

- 'Jeju 4·3' Special Session
AI films inspired by the history, memory, peace, and human rights values associated with Jeju 4·3.

- 'PongDang Family' Special Session
Creative AI films utilizing the Pondang Family characters and related intellectual properties.

** Specific themes, requirements, and reference materials for each Jeju IP Special Session are provided separately through official guidelines.

Failure to review and comply with the official documents may result in disqualification.

1. Eligibility
Open to individuals, teams, organizations, and companies worldwide.
No age restrictions.
Multiple submissions are permitted.
Entries may be submitted to multiple sections if all requirements are met.

**Only works created after January 1, 2026 can be submitted.

2. AI Utilization Requirement
This competition is intended for works substantially created using generative AI
technologies.
*Entrants may be required to submit AI production evidence, including but not limited to:
- Prompt records
- Workflow documentation
- AI tool usage records
- Production process materials
- Source files and project files
Finalists may be requested to provide additional verification materials.
Failure to provide sufficient evidence may result in disqualification.

3. Copyright and Rights
Applicants must own or have secured all necessary rights for materials included in their submissions.

The entrant bears full responsibility for any copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or other intellectual property disputes arising from the submitted work.

4. Festival Screening Rights

Award-winning and officially selected works may be screened, exhibited, promoted, archived, and used for non-commercial promotional purposes related to:

- Jeju Global AI Film Competition
- Jeju International AI Film Festival
- Related educational, cultural, and promotional activities

Copyright ownership remains with the creator.

5. Submission Requirements
Submission formats, runtime limits, technical specifications, and section-specific requirements are described in the official documents available through the Google Drive link above.
Jeju IP Special Sessions may have additional requirements and mandatory reference materials.

6. Disqualification

Entries may be disqualified if:

False information is provided.
Submission requirements are not met.
AI usage verification cannot be reasonably established.
Copyright or intellectual property violations are identified.
Materials violate applicable laws or regulations.
The submitted work contains content deemed inappropriate by the organizers.

7. Final Authority

The organizers reserve the right to interpret and administer all rules, eligibility requirements, judging procedures, and festival operations.

    What an incredible festival! The energy was fantastic on the beautiful island of Jeju. This event truly stands among the greatest festivals, with flawless organization and remarkable attention to detail.

    The Jeju Arts and Culture Center will forever hold a special place in my heart and memory. It's a venue where cinema can truly shine.

    As the Grand Prize winner, it was a great honor to be selected, and I am immensely grateful for the opportunity to have my short film "Evolution" screened in such a cinematic setting.
