Komeil Soheili is director, producer, and Cinema professor at the Korean University of Media Arts. Holding an MA in Cultural Studies and Media from the University of Tehran, he focuses on cultural and environmental issues through a sociological lens. His work has been featured by BBC, National Geographic, CNN, and Business Insider, and honored at festivals including the Seoul Eco Film Festival (Grand Award), Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (NAFF), Meihodo International Film Festival, and GZDocs (Golden Kapok Award). He has served as a jury member at festivals such as the Busan International Short Film Festival (South Korea) and Aladerri International Film Festival (USA). Author of two books, on cinema and on global ethnographic travels; he is also the founder of Yooran Film, an independent film company based in South Korea.
