ABOUT THIS FESTIVAL: AUDIENCE AWARDS provides filmmakers with the opportunity to gain exposure, distribute your short films, & accelerate your careers. We are committed to providing a stage for diverse, emerging talent and your creative work. Our democratized platform celebrates the power of storytelling and provides you with the tools to build an audience. Films submitted to opportunities on our site are juried by industry professionals and the global audience. The top films win prizes and screen at festivals around the world. Created by filmmakers, for filmmakers, we work our ass off (and have fun doing it) to give you a leg up.

On the voting open date, your film is juried by our preliminary jury panel and the global audience. From this first round, the top 3 films with the most votes and the top 5 preliminary jury-selected films advance to the finals round. If audience winners are preliminary jury selections, the prelim jury will select additional films so that there are always 8 finalist films. From the 8 films, the expert jury panel will select their top 5 films. These films are deemed the finalists of this festival.

A note on audience voting: If you want your friends and family to vote for your film, share away. Audience voting greatly increases your views & exposure for your film and career, but social sharing is not necessary to win. The jury ultimately chooses the finalists and winners of the festival.

Your film will be publicly viewed, so make sure it’s the right time for your film to gain an online audience! If it's too early for the public to watch your film online, we invite you to come back next year and submit.

This was a great opportunity to have online viewers for The Reindeer belong to the Wind doc film. Thank you very much!

  • I must admit to being skeptical about a vote online format festival, but really enjoyed the experience and many more people got to watch our film because of the festival. I enjoyed watching many of the other films in the festival as well. While not going all out to get tons of votes on social media it felt like the film got a lift in profile and the performers enjoyed sharing it with friends. Watching through the films it did seem all about who had the most contacts, votes and social media obsession rather then the best of the films that got the most audience votes. However I'm glad there was a good judging team to balance this out. Thank you Audience Awards for a good experience and sharing some great films.
