The Singapore Myanmar Film Festival showcases innovative independent films from people of Singapore and Myanmar origins from across the globe. It aims to further develop the partnership between Singapore and Myanmar through the medium of film and to expose high caliber talent to an international audience which otherwise may not find the limelight.

The spirit of the Festival is one of friendship and universal cooperation. Its aim is to reveal and focus attention on works of quality in order to contribute to the evolution of motion picture arts and to encourage development of the film industry between Singapore and Myanmar

The film festival is an SME production in association with the Network of Myanmar American Association (NETMAA).

IMPORTANT: Films must be from people of Myanmar & Singapore origins. (You can still enter if born or living outside Myanmar & Singapore.)

1. Submission is free.

2. The Festival reserves right to deny entry to the Festival

3. All films must originate from Singapore and Myanmar Filmmakers and/or Filmmakers of Singapore and Myanmar Origin. (I.E. Filmmakers can be from any country.)

4. Films must not have been broadcast on TV, available on the Internet or screened in any cinema prior to the Festival.

5. Films must have been completed between 1 January 2013 and 31st March 2014.

6. All films must be together with the completed online submission form, 2 high resolutionfilm posters or images, 1 photograph of the director in digital format and any available press kit to admin@singaporemyanmarfilmfestival.org or physically mailed to No 6 Gemmill Lane, Singapore 069249. Mark on the envelope or customs report “For cultural use only” and “No commercial value”.

7. The festival accepts either HD DVD by mail or via a secured online link eg: Dropbox or WeTransfer.

8. Deadline for submission is 30th June 2015.
Any submission received after the deadline will not be accepted.

9. Films in any other language other than English must have English subtitles.

10. All shipping costs of the submitted material shall be borne by the submitter/sender. The Festival will not assume responsibility for any charges.

11. A team of judges will select a total of 6 films prior to the festival. The 6 finalists will be shown at the festival in November 2015 and an overall winner will be awarded the grand prize by an audience vote.

12. If your film is selected to be in the final competition, we will notify you via email by the 31st of August 2015.
