Join us for the Twelfth Anniversary Season Event of the  Green Bay Film Festival.
GBFF festival will take place over several weeks starting February and wrapping up March of 2022. Specially selected films have an opportunity to be played in the festival segment called "Films Around Town" (playing in various venues around town) leading up to a weekend extravaganza event March 4-6, 2022 at St. Norbert College.

The 2022 Festival includes networking opportunities for filmmakers over the weekend extravaganza with parties, and a Sunday morning Pancake award ceremony. All of GBFF weekend extravaganza events are within walking distance with reduced hotel accommodations right across the street from our screening venue. We also provide the filmmaker “Green Room” a private setting where your conversation and networking continues throughout the weekend!

GBFF has a multitude of categories! Besides our annual Features, Documentary, Short and Wisconsin Films; if you find your film fits in Thriller/Horror or is a Wisconsin made film, you’ll want to be sure to select that option! GBFF always has a Short film segment, documentaries and features playing during their weekend sessions. Plus, be sure to consider submitting to GBFF's ever popular Saturday Night THRILLER & HORROR segment.
This Year's Categories Are:
We hope you will attend and help us create an experience that goes beyond "watching a movie"! We connect filmmakers and audiences in a community setting! We delight in giving our Filmmakers extraordinary welcomes in traditional Midwest fashion. Make your Name and Film headlines to a community thirsty for talent with a thriving knowledgeable film base.
As one filmmaker said, “Green Bay is the perfect place to host a film festival. The talent is real and everyone’s doors are open.” We couldn’t agree more.

All films submitted will compete in noted categories and first place finalists be awarded a $50 cash prize for:

GBFF was an absolute BLAST!!!! Caitlin and the entire festival team really know how to make filmmakers feel like they're a part of something truly special - from the actual festival site (which is incredible), to the amazing level of communication, to the seriously wonderful films we were lucky enough to play alongside, to the amount of input filmmakers are invited to share in terms of all of their creative assets, it honestly feels like you've been invited to a Sundance-level fest. We were so proud and honored that such a great fest selected our film, and were even luckier to be presented with an award, which we're incredibly grateful for (and even that was done so beautifully and so beyond what most fests normally do - we even received an incredibly sweet letter, along with a cash reward and a hard copy of our certificate!), but we were honestly thrilled to have even been just picked to be exhibited by a fest so great. Walk, don't run to submit to this one - you won't regret it! THANK YOU GBFF!!

Good line up of films. My film "Tangled" was selected for 2021 edition and the communication and follow ups were helpful. Looks like this community festival team has such an eclectic taste as well. Since most screenings unfortunately take place virtually due to COVID, cannot comment on hospitality area but I am sure that will be wonderful next year. I just wish they are a little more active on Facebook such as publishing the posters/stills and such. Cheers!

  • This is a wonderful festival. There is such a genuine enthusiasm for and appreciation of both films and filmmakers by the festival staff. They were extremely supportive of this contributor in terms of helping navigate the submission procedure, and were quick to answer emails. It was abundantly clear this staff cared deeply about making this festival a truly enjoyable and memorable experience which it was. My only regret is that due to the virtual format, and my distance from the festival site, I could not attend in person and meet the staff and the other filmmakers. I will definitely submit my next film to this festival and look forward to this opportunity with pleasure!

The event was wonderful! A fest not to be missed!

We had a blast at the Green Bay Film Festival. The Festival volunteers were so welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable. I truly appreciated the opportunity to watch a wide range of outstanding films and network with other filmmakers, volunteers and film enthusiasts. I will definitely submit my next film to this festival.
