Because of the current Covid 19 situation in LA and theaters continued to be shutdown We are not able to have the festival in person as of now. Winners are being notified today and will be mailed their engraved God of Olympus trophy for free.

All 6 Film God's will screen at the festival with Both Feature and Short Screenplay winners all receiving free God trophies presented at the festival.

We will be selecting the best films to attend the festival with Screenings, Red carpet event and Award ceremony held October.

➨ The number of Awards given out depend on submissions.

Note: Not all winning films will screen but will be invited to attend the festival.

Note: All film God films will screen) ZEUS, POSEIDON, ATHENA,ARTEMIS, APHRODITE, and APOLLO.

Seating for 220, Your Guests, Cast and Crew will be invited, as well as Top industry professionals, Producers, Distributors, Directors and Actors. We will fill the seats.

There will be a red carpet event with Professional Photographers that will Dropbox the pictures for free, Q&A with all of the filmmakers.

We will record this and give it to you. And an awards presentation where the films will receive their Trophies and certificates.

➨Each film that screens will be Presented your Unique Film God Trophy 1 of 6 Gods on Olympus, Take Photos, and have a filmed Q&A.

➨Each individual Award Winner in all categories receives a Digital Certificate and can buy the Film God Trophy 1 of the 6 God Trophies, as well as 7 Different PNG Laurels.

➨ Our Judging panel includes Women, Minorities and Immigrants and is comprised of working Industry professionals as well as non Filmmakers to keep the Judging fair and unbiased, something most film festivals lack.

➨ Networking opportunities at the second annual festival should have top industry professionals: producers, distributors, directors and actors.

➨We have 16 Award Categories.

There will be 1 Winning Best Feature Screenplay and 1 Best Short Screenplay that will be presented their God Of Olympus Trophy Chosen by our Judges for free at the festival.

➨ We are Sponsored by Simple DCP - We will Pay for the hard drive and delivery/ Creation of your DCP.
They create Digital Cinema Packages (DCPs) for theatrical exhibition. This is the Standard now if a film plays in a theater.
Simple DCP provides you with the tools and expertise to master your film with confidence.

Awards & Prizes

A different God and Trophy represents the 6 Selected films of the year, each film representing that Greek god of the month. Each Film God winner's receives the trophy for free, it will be presented at the festival.

(Best Feature Screenplay and Best Short Screenplay) Will win the God trophy of our choice. The trophies will be presented at the festival for free June 2020.

Official Selection ( not meaning it screens), Semi Finalist and Finalist receive 7 Different Laurels for their Poster or material. They can also purchase a Film God trophy of their choice to either pick up at the festival or have it shipped.

Rules & Eligibility

1. All Selected films must provide a DCP to screen.

2. All foreign Language Submissions must be subtitled.

3. Olympus does NOT download your film or make it available online.

4. Online screeners, and posters are mandatory and must be uploaded to FilmFreeway’s site.

5. Entry fees are non-refundable.

6. We accept all lengths of films UNDER 180 minutes unless approved by our Staff.

7. We accept films with Prior distribution including VOD and online releases.

8. Festival terms and conditions can change at times.

    Excellent festival. Truly honored to receive the BEST SCREENPLAY award from the Olympus Film Festival. To be in the company of fellow award winners, Sean Aston and D.B. Sweeney, was terrific. Appreciate the festival taking the time to mail a powerful Athena sculpture award as well. Thank you.

    The festival's staff emails you directly, asking you to apply, saying they've checked out your film. I applied. Then they alerted me that my film was accepted but I'd need to pay part of the theater costs. I declined. Then the film was not accepted. It's just all a money scheme. There are so many festivals where the team running it really do want to find and screen films. Everything is as advertised with no follow-ups for additional money. Not recommended.

    Martha's film Sweetheart made it to semi finalist from our Judges. It was a well executed film with a good semi unique topic but the ending was weak compared to other films it competed with as per the multi judge panel reviewing it. The film is under 7 Minutes. Only WINNING films screen at Olympus; unlike other festivals that only want to profit off of ticket sales for packed multi day release in the smallest theater screening rooms. We screen in the largest and have a high standard. Olympus never has asked any filmmakers to ever pay any theater costs. This is false. We do have sponsors that might have reached out to Martha about theatrical distribution with Fourwalling that does have costs to rent the Los Angeles theater for an entire week. This has nothing to do with Olympus Film Festival and is a secondary avenue for filmmakers to screen for an entire week in a Los Angeles theater to qualify for the Academy Awards and earn 100% ticket sales daily for a full week screening of their film. We continue to strive to be one of the best newest Los Angeles film festivals that has some of the lowest Submission prices and screens at the highest quality theaters on DCP having wonderful people attend pack out screenings and celebrating the best films with the best FREE trophies on the festival circuit.
