Festival SPASM, founded in Montreal (Canada) in 2002, is a crazy short film festival mostly dedicated to genre films and anything out of the ordinary that will give our audience a good time. Our 7 night event is held every year around Halloween and is one big party! We attract huge crowds of passionate film lovers who come to discover great short films from around the world and to have a good time in the SPASM atmosphere.
We are well known for a our big HORROR night at Halloween, but we present much more then that. We are also looking for short films in the following categories : science-fiction, fantasy, action, thriller, suspense, comedy, western, trash, weird, strange and films dealing with sexuality.
Basically, we love films that create emotions ; that hit you like a ton of rocks, that can make you laugh or cry, that can inspire you or make you shit your pants!
All short films presented at SPASM are eligible for competition at SPASM. A jury gives out multiple awards at the end of the festival. Best film / directing / script / editing / best sound / best cinematography / best music / best effects / best horror / best science-fiction / best comedy / best acting / best animation.
The public also vote for there favorite short film of the festival.
