The Asia South East – Short Film Festival is a seasonal film festival that gives international audiences a chance to see a wide variety of the great short films that are being produced from around the world.

We screen all genres from drama to action to horror to documentary to comedy to animation and more and we prize originality above all. We have awards for different genres, production locations and technical and artistic talent. The festival organisers are very proud to be able to showcase the best work of both established and upcoming filmmakers. Our mission is to give recognition and plaudits to the creative talents we feel deserve it and to screen their work to our appreciative, cinema loving audience.

Our judges will be drawn from the filmmaking community and cultural institutions and we are very geared to getting as much exposure for our festival and our filmmakers as possible so will be pushing for coverage both in online and print media.

Submissions are now open for our upcoming season. The Asia South East – Short Film Festival has screenings in various locations in South East Asia including Vietnam, Cambodia and with future festivals to be held in Thailand and Indonesia. All are exciting and richly cultured countries in this very beautiful region of the world.

We are pursuing different possibilities within the broadcast and streaming industries that we hope will be, in the near future, of benefit to our festivals and the filmmakers that take part. There is a high demand for well curated and audience tested creative content and we plan on taking advantage of this need. Updates will be announced on our social media and newsletter.

Rules & Terms

The Asia South East Short Film Festival's decision is final, and we cannot enter into discussion about films not accepted.

If your film is chosen to screen in competition, we will send you an acceptance email and request a digital transfer of your short film. The file must be received by the date stated in the acceptance email, or your film will not be screened.

If selected, your film can only be screened for the festival edition you have submitted to. We cannot postpone screenings of your film to later festivals.

Asia South East Short Film Festival is hereby granted the right to utilize for up to a year after the festival an excerpt from any film submitted and accepted for exhibition at the Festival for promotional purposes. The individual or corporation submitting the film hereby warrants that it is authorized for up to a year after the festival to commit the film for screening (including but not limited to multiple screenings in multiple U.K. and International locations), and understands and accepts these requirements and regulations.

By submitting your entry you consent to, and have obtained all necessary consents for (and agree to provide copies of the same on request), all or any part of the production being reproduced for up to a year after the festival by the Organizers.
