MPCWS Short Film Social Gala Submission Rules:
MPCWS-SFG (Marketplace Cinemas Winston-Salem Short Film Gala) We are looking for 10-18 films to be shown in the MPCWS-SFG.
Submissions for the 2017 SFG will be Exclusively accepted via FilmFreeway.
MPCWS-SFG is open to all ages. MPCWS-SFG 2017 is open to all genres of films, including Documentary and Horror. No Adult Films / NC-17 will be accepted into the Gala.
Short Films may be Rated - G - PG - PG-13 - R. Total length of Short Film(s) must be 26 minutes or less (including credits). No exceptions! :)
Only the Director, Screenwriter, Producer, or someone very closely connected to the Short Film may enter/submit to this Gala.
All clearances/rights to the Short Film(s) (Including Soundtrack) must be obtained by the Film’s Submitter to enter into the Gala.
MPCWS-SFG will not be held responsible in anyway for any legal/clearance violations with the Film(s) shown.
You may enter more than one Short Film, but only one Short Film will be accepted per Finalist.
Early Bird Deadline is October 18th, 2017 and Cost only $2.50 to enter.
Regular Deadline is October 31st, 2017 and Cost only $5.00 to enter.
Final Deadline is November 5th, 2017 and Cost $7.50 to enter.
You MUST provided a downloadable HD copy for us to play at the Gala. NO Film will be streamed to ensure the highest quality presentation. Downloadable HD copy MUST be provided before November 28th or risk being disqualified, with No refund.
Downloadable Copies can be 1080p, 2K, or 4K res.
Film entry fees cannot be refunded.
Please note: The Finalists Films will be shown on 2K Christie Digital Projection in 5.1 Dolby Surround Sound.
Image: We preferably wish for the Short Films to be Submitted at DCI Resolutions, but it is NOT required.
True Digital Cinema Initiatives (DCI) Scope (CinemaScope) Resolution is 2048 x 858 (2.39:1).
True Digital Cinema Initiatives (DCI) Resolution is 1998 x 1080 (1.85:1).

MPCWS-SFSG Judges will be unable to provide comments about specific films due to time and resource constraints.
Prizes:
1st Place will received $50 Dollars Cash and a MPCWS-SFG17 1st Plaque.
2nd Place will received $30 Dollars Cash and a MPCWS-SFG17 2nd Plaque.
3rd Place will received $20 Dollars Cash and a MPCWS-SFG17 3rd Plaque.
Finalist:
The Short Film Gala Screenings will be held at 6:30pm on December 3rd, 2017 at the Marketplace Cinemas Winston Salem.
Each Finalist will see their Short Film on the BIG SCREEN in a 200 seat Theater. Each Finalist Will be able to participate in a brief Q&A before to present their Film.
Judging for Short Film Gala will be done by a qualified team of local film lovers and local filmmakers. They will be judging on Story, Originality, Quality, and Overall Enjoyableness of the Films.
Each Finalist with a film in Gala will receive a Welcome Pack with VIP name-tag, with 1 additional ticket for the Gala for Friend/Family. If any additional tickets are needed for your Family/Friends, tickets may be purchased at the Box Office for $2.50 each.
This event will be open to the Public for viewing as well, tickets will be only $2.50 each. Seating is limited and will be on a First Come, First Served bases.
Welcome Packs are not sent by mail, but must be picked up in person at the Gala Box Office after 4pm on December 3rd.
The submission of a film or films to the MPCWS-SFSG 2017 will be considered to be an acknowledgement to all of the Gala rules.
