The Jocunda Festival is an incredible locus of emerging and established talent, writers, directors, actors, and audience. Under Van Dirk Fisher's steady and wise guidance the festival has become one of the most fervent and fecund festivals in North America. The continued standard and range of plays and films, the quality of actors, and the sheer passion of all involved make The Jocunda Festival a true stand-out. In the face of Covid restrictions, Van, with his extraordinary commitment and passion was able to re-engineer the entire festival to an online event without losing momentum or quality. May Jocunda and Van become permanent fixtures of the American theater, film, and music scene.

    Response from festival:

Thank you Simon for the glowing review. The Riant Theatre and JOCUNDA FESTIVAL was blessed to present your play FORGER in the JOCUNDA FESTIVAL'S Virtual Play Reading Series. Your play was very well received. So well that you did some rewrites and we did a reading of that one as well. You are a very prolific writer and I can't wait to read more of your plays. I'm also hoping that we can present FORGER in the theatre when it's safe to gather in large numbers in the theatres. I'm wishing you all the best with all your endeavors. It's been a pleasure to work with an artist, playwright, screenwriter who is humble, down to earth and a joy to work with and all about the craft and doing great theatre. Much respect to you and hats off for the way you treated the cast and everyone. Looking forward to working with you again in the future.
    Best,
    Van Dirk Fisher
