The Sylvia Theater is an intimate, historic venue located in Downtown York, South Carolina.

The Sylvia Theater Film Fest will focus on showcasing original short films and narrative content of all genres, including Drama, Comedy, Horror, Science Fiction, and Fantasy up to 20 minutes in length. The Sylvia Theater Film Fest accepts local, regional, and international films that are spirited, diverse, progressive, challenging, and entertaining.

Rules & Terms

The length of short films submitted should not exceed 20 minutes, including titles, credits, etc.

For submission purposes, your film may be in any language. However, we do require English subtitles in order for your film to be considered or screened.

Once a project has been submitted for consideration than it cannot be withdrawn.

By submitting your film for consideration to the Sylvia Theater Film Fest, you agree to allow us to screen your film if selected. We reserve the right to use stills or excerpts from any submitted film for promotional materials.

    The folks at the Sylvia Theater Film Fest in York, South Carolina, know how to run a great festival. A fun festival. I had a few questions and the staff was great on communications. Sadly, that's not always the case with other film festival. I highly recommend this festival.

    We are very happy to have our short movie Quiet Noise included in the first ever Sylvia Theater Film Festival. I can feel that this event was organized by very passionate people and the responses from the audience have been very sweet. Hope there will be more Sylvia Theater film fests in the future!
