Although Filmfest homochrom is one of the youngest LGBTIQ (lesbian, gay, bi, trans*, intersex, queer) film festivals in Germany, it is already the second-largest. It takes place in one of Europe's biggest metropolitan areas, Rhine-Ruhr, with Cologne being Germany's gay capital and Dortmund a football and former steel and beer city. We are giving our best to establish an outstanding programme. For this reason we are looking for outstanding films – premieres preferred.
Awards & Prizes
audience award "Chromie" for a) feature-length fiction, b) feature-length documentary, and c) short films in three competitive programmes (lesbian, gay, and trans*-queer)
Rules & Terms
Films should have a clear LGBTIQ (lesbian, gay, bi, trans*, intersex, queer) content, and not be older than two years. With your submission you guarantee that all rights are cleared. All genres, lengths or styles are welcome – premieres preferred.
Filmfest homochrom also prefers films which aren't available on the internet in full length.
Filmfest homochrom does pay reasonable screening fees for feature-lenght films.
Films which are neither German nor English-speaking should have German or English subtitles. For the screenings we will translate or create German subtitles. It is highly appreaciated, if you have subtitle/CC files (with time-codes) or a transcript at hand.
Because of numerous misplaced submissions, we are introducing a very moderate fee. If you live in an area, where it's impossible to pay a submission fee, or if for one reason or another you're not able to pay the fee, please contact us via e-mail.
Extended deadline only after e-mail request.
