The Silver Falls Film Festival returns for a one-night-only celebration of cinema on Thursday, August 20, 2026. Hosted by the Silverton Arts Association as part of the beloved Silverton Arts Festival, the festival will bring together an exciting lineup of regional and international short films for an unforgettable evening of storytelling on the big screen.

Audiences can expect a diverse collection of films that span genres, perspectives, and cultures, showcasing both emerging youth voices and accomplished filmmakers. From the Pacific Northwest to around the world, these short films offer a chance to experience powerful stories, fresh ideas, and unexpected moments—all in a single evening.

The festival is also committed to supporting local filmmakers: submissions are free for Pacific Northwest filmmakers, helping make the event an accessible platform for regional artists to share their work. Whether you're a dedicated film lover or simply looking for a memorable night out during the arts festival, the Silver Falls Film Festival promises to be one of the highlights of the summer.

A local cohort of judges from a variety of artistic disciplines select the short films for the program and present several awards the night of the festival.

Though I wasn’t able to attend, I asked some family to go check it out. Both years in a row I was honored with an official selection! Communication was great and I hope to submit and be able to travel and see in person in the future.
