Welcome to the Taunus Filmfest in the immediate neighborhood of Frankfurt, Germany!

As an international film festival, the Taunus Filmfest connects filmmakers from all over the world. It is located in different cities in the Taunus such as Oberursel and Bad Homburg, cities directly neighboring Frankfurt am Main, Germany. For more than a decade, the Festival has become a tradition for storytelling and a destination for many local, national and international filmmakers. The Taunus Filmfest is happy to accept and screen films that entertain, move, inspire and make people think.

Each year, our jury consists of renowned experts from the film industry such as

📌 TERMS OF SUBMISSION (ToS) – EXCERPT

The following conditions are only an excerpt from our ToS and are in no way to be regarded as complete

1. Eligibility
All genres are allowed, except for works with explicit content and extreme violence.

2. Submission Process
All non-German works must be submitted with German or English subtitles.

Works must be made available for screening on filmfreeway.com. Selected works must be downloadable in high resolution to be presented. DVDs and other downloads will not be processed for the selection process.

By submitting to the festival, the participant confirms ownership of the rights to the submitted work. In particular, the submitter assures that his/her submission does not contain any music subject to GEMA. The submitter expressly indemnifies the Filmfest from all GEMA claims as well as all other claims of other parties due to possible infringements of rights.

All works must be submitted with German or English subtitles for screening purposes.

If a work is selected for the festival, it must be submitted as follows within two weeks of notification:
Works in English must be provided with German subtitles.
Works in German must be provided with English subtitles.
All works in other languages must be submitted with both, English and German subtitles.

4. Selection
Once a work is confirmed for participation, it cannot be withdrawn from the competition. If works acquire a new rights holder after the selection, the Film Festival must receive the consent of this person to participate in the competition. No rental fees will be paid for competition entries.

8. Award Ceremony
The recipient of a cash prize agrees to accept the prize in person. If personal presence is not reasonable, a live interview via Zoom or similar means can be arranged. The reasonableness depends on factors such as the recipient’s location, distance to the festival location, travel costs, and the potential sponsorship of travel costs by the festival, as well as the physical condition of the recipient (e.g., illness).

If the award recipient cannot attend personally or virtually, the Film Festival reserves the right to award the prize to the second-best film.

The awardee must provide a feasible method of transfer, covering any applicable transfer costs (e.g., costs of international transfers). The Film Festival assumes no responsibility for any tax obligations of the recipient.

A public announcement of the awardees will be made during the closing event.

All decisions regarding the awarding of the prize are at the discretion of the jury and are final.

9. License and Rights
By submitting, filmmakers agree to grant the Film Festival the right to publicly screen the submitted film during the festival.

11. Other Conditions
The Film Festival reserves the right to make necessary changes to the festival schedule. Participation in the festival implies the unconditional acceptance of all provisions of these guidelines. Producers, distributors, or other individuals or organizations submitting a work must ensure that third parties involved in the production agree to participate in the festival.
