For over 20 years, I’ve been telling stories through images, whether for global advertising campaigns (STIHL, Red Bull, Audi, RB Leipzig) or intimate, award-winning documentaries. My work is rooted in authenticity, collaboration, and the belief that the best moments happen when you stop forcing them.
The Documentary That Changed Everything
In 2024, my 20-minute solo project, "Ich bin einfach nur da. Und das ist gut so." ("I'm Just Here"), won Best Cinematography at festivals in New York, Tokyo, Los Angeles, and Hollywood, with selections from Cannes to Belgrade. The film—a meditation on presence, silence, and the beauty of simply being—was shot, edited, and graded entirely by me. It’s a project close to my heart, born from a need to strip away the noise and focus on what truly matters.
The response reminded me why I do this: To create work that moves people. Not with spectacle, but with honesty and emotion.
Commercial Work Meets Artistic Vision
When I’m not working on personal projects, I bring the same cinematic approach to commercial campaigns. My clients trust me to capture real energy—whether it’s athletes in motion, the quiet intensity of a portrait, or the raw authenticity of documentary-style storytelling. My background in advertising photography (with brands like Sony, PwC, and EnBW) informs my filmmaking, blending technical precision with emotional depth.
Where I Find Inspiration
I live in a tiny village in the Bavarian Alps with my family—literally under the mountains. If there’s fresh powder, I’m gone before sunrise. If the trails call, I’m on my bike. And when I need to recharge, I disappear to our cabin in the Swedish archipelago, where there’s nothing but water, forest, and silence.
This balance—between high-energy commercial shoots and slow, mindful moments—is what keeps my work fresh. It’s also why I’m drawn to stories about people who live with passion, whether they’re Olympic athletes, artisans, or everyday heroes.
What’s Next?
I’m currently developing my first feature-length documentary, building on the themes of "I'm Just Here" while exploring new narratives. And yes, I’m still shooting commercial projects that challenge me—because great storytelling, in any form, is what drives me.
