Joe Bartone, born 1965 Provicence RI. Joe was an integral part of the Rhode Island and Western MA. music scene as a music composer for Ashamu Dance theater at Brown Univeristy and later Smith College in Northampton MA.
He also wrote and produced a number of albums of his own post punk and jazz as well as produced many other artists.
Upon moving to Los Angeles, his quartet Thelonious Dub released two records on a SubPop imprint.
Following a stint as an audio consultant at Warner Bros., Joe went on to learn film as a sound mixer on production sets. Here he learned how to write, produce and direct, winning entry into the Writer’s Guild Of America for a screenplay that took finals at Slamdance.
Joe’s movies have earned him dozens of independent film awards.
