The call for entries has officially opened! Share your vision and submit now on FilmFreeway to join our cinema family! In addition to short films, we are now accepting short screenplays under 25 pages. Three talented writers will be selected to showcase their visions with us.

The ICS family hopes this message finds you safe and healthy as we say farewell to 2023 and embark on this New Year! With the current, unpredictable pandemic conditions, we understand how difficult these times may be as an artist. While unexpected changes are still occurring around the world, we as a cinema family aim to keep our hearts and resources available to support and showcase independent artists as much as possible this 2024.

The ICS family is wishfully planning for a 2024 Showcase Season, with hopes of being back safe and sound at our home venue Regal Cinemas L.A. LIVE. For now, we will be hosting our showcases online.

Your engagement and support this year will greatly help us keep the ICS mission alive: to discover and showcase independent filmmakers from around the world!

The Independent Cinema Showcase is a fundraising event to support and promote independent filmmakers from all around the world who have the perseverance and courage to create, collaborate and invest in their own dreams. The screening features an array of short independent content including TV pilots, parodies, dark comedies, suspense thrillers, animation and more.

The ICS family honors and highlights professional artists and entrepreneurs who truly appreciate Cinematic . We are dedicated to creating a professional networking and promotional opportunity to showcase independent content with a new audience. The ICS Host: Mary Rachel Gardner

The founder, creative producer and director of Kalliste Zoe Productions, an independent film production company aiming to explore, create and share original content through visual and storytelling. Mary Rachel is a firm believer in creating and maintaining a strong filmmaking family who genuinely support one another. Thus sparked her motivation to create ICS. She as an independent filmmaker herself, knows what it is like when you first start out; it can be intimidating, and you may not know anyone or have the ample resources to truly execute your vision.

Awards & Prizes

Each filmmaker will receive a distribution opportunity with an award-winning online streaming platform called OPPRIME.tv, where the filmmakers can host and monetize their content. There will be three winners at each showcase with an "Honorable Mention" that includes a personalized trophy.

The showcase also includes special raffle prizes for all guests who attend and make a donation/contribution to ICS at the door. Previous prizes have included signed movie posters, comedy show tickets, gift cards, sweet treats and discount packages (LiteGear, SimpleDCP, SirReel Studios, Peet's ).

Rules & Terms

Are you an independent filmmaker ready and willing to invest in your own career? Do you want to showcase and/or test your content in front of a live audience? Looking to network and meet more filmmakers? Then you have found the right family!

The Independent Cinema Showcase (ICS) has made it possible for a community of filmmakers to share their visions at the Regal Cinema Theatres at the L.A. LIVE Convention Center in Downtown . Each filmmaker pays for their fair portion of “screening/air time”, ranging from $35 to $85 depending on the length of the film, in to fairly split the venue expense.

The venue provides an open mezzanine area where filmmakers can display and promote their marketing materials as well network with other independent artists. There will be a photographer and videographer on site capturing the event.

Please plan to provide the following:

1) Signed Agreement
2) DCP file with our sponsor Simple DCP
3) Film information and promotional materials (a downloadable link to your film 2GB max – movie stills, behind the scenes photos and film details)
4) Payment for “screening/air time”
