I have enjoyed writing short stories, poems and non fiction pieces. I have have had work featured on children's radio as well in anthologies and magazines from around the world such as The School Magazine (Australia), Highlights (USA), The Caterpillar (Ireland) and Storytime (UK).
I have also written four print books and an audio book - a retelling of the story of Noah. My short pieces and books have been short listed or won awards in competitions such as the Moonbeam Children's Book Awards, The Purple Dragon Fly Awards, Nestle Storytelling Contest, The Moondance International Film Festival, Readers Favourites Contest, The Winchester Writer's Festival, The Plough International Poetry Prize etc.
I originally came from a factual and factual entertainment radio production background. The areas included local radio/education/religion and children's audio magazines. The mediums ranged live and pre-recorded studio shows and outside live and pre-recorded broadcasted events.
I have wanted for some time to develop the craft of writing short scripts, after viewing short films and saw how effective this medium could be.
In film making, I have worked on two indie film development projects in research and development. Unfortunately both projects were never completed. One was the promotions of a horror film (to develop an award winning short film into a feature) and the other was a documentary researching historical facts and contributors tracing the origins on free speech.
I also worked as part of the production team on a short dance film (Pointe Aheade). This was mainly researching and organisation.
