Following the success of our pre-screening events, we’re organising more to give filmmakers regular opportunities to screen their work. While all submitted films are eligible for these pre-screening events, the main festival screening will take place in June 2025.

As part of the film festival, we will give the following awards:

🏆 Best Film for each category
🏆 Best Actor for each category
🏆 Best Director for each category
🏆 Best Story for each category

And may give the following:

🏆 Best Composer for each category
🏆 Best Cinematography for each category

All the awards will be added to IMDb, so make sure you have the IMDb page set up for your film to celebrate the wins.

Submit your film and we might screen it at our next pre-screening event and even our main event!

Submission Eligibility:
- You can submit films that have been previously shown theatrically or at other film festivals.

- We accept short films no longer than 40 minutes.

- You can submit your film to multiple categories. For example, if you submit your film to the Best Horror category, it will only compete with other Horror shorts.

- A Short Short Film is a film under 5 minutes long.

- A no-budget film is produced with an overall budget of less than £100.

Submission Fee:
- All submissions for Watch Shorts are to be paid through the FilmFreeway platform.

- The submission fee is non-refundable.

Selection of Films:
- We will review each film for selection. If you would like written feedback on your films we'd be happy to do so upon request.

Promotion:
- Selected films must acknowledge that Watch Shorts reserves the right to promote the films on the Watch Shorts website and social media using both images and videos that you provide.
