After a successful Summer and Winter event (Online) in 2020 and early 2021, the festival is returning for a longer, more accessible event for 2021 with the submission period opening in May 2021.
Open to films worldwide we still plan to take the festival from virtual to actual once the world settles down, however for our 2022 event, this will remain for now. An online festival.
Our Festival Director once again is Stuart Bannerman, Publicist, Podcaster & Convention Panel Host and also sometime filmmaker whilst running the award winning FromPage2Screen brand and he returns as part of the judging panel & continues to help publicize film & filmmakers for nearly a decade through various social media channels as well as through podcasting, his website, & the many interview films and live event panels he has hosted.
This year Stuart has been covering several worldwide festivals, all from the comfort of his home office.
Each award winner will receive a digital certificate (At the moment we are still in the process of working with a trophy company for those who would also like a physical trophy), However with the digital certificate you can always add it to a lovely glass frame to show off your 'win'
Winners will also be given the option of appearing on the Spending Time With podcast (hosted by the events Festival Director to talk about their creative life and their projects. This spin off podcast is part of the FromPage2Screen Podcast series which has run for nearly a decade. In our Summer event, we launched the show with filmmaker Trevor Hayward who came on board to talk not only about his current film, but also how he makes his movies.
Films submitted and accepted will immediately begin to receive some extra publicity through the frompage2screen social media networks, such as post sharings, online interviews, podcast appearances. The films themselves of course wont be shared, but the filmmakers will able to get that extra bit of audience building included once the 'submitted' message is sent out to them.
The following rules constitute the conditions under which motion pictures, & other materials may be submitted to the UK Motion Picture Film Festival. Do read these through as they have changed slightly since the last two events.
All submissions are subject to these rules:
You are free to enter any film or screenplay - short or feature in any appropriate category. But here is the great thing. You only have to submit your film once with a single submission fee.
All films that are not in English language must have English language subtitles.
Your film will be viewed privately by the judges, and securely.
Entry fees must be paid in full at time of submission.
Fees must be paid in GBP currency. No cash payments.
All fees are non-refundable.
Each Category does specify a maximum length - these should be abided by.
Only submissions with completed submission fields & entry fees will be considered. Submissions received without a completed submission, an entry fee, or a screener will not be accepted.
No postal submissions allowed.
Notice of receipt of submissions will be posted via submitter’s FilmFreeway or Film Fest account. It is the submitter’s responsibility to track the status of their submission.
Submissions are generally updated to- “In Consideration” within 2-4 weeks of receipt.
The releases for all content including, but not limited to, music & talent must be obtained by the filmmaker. The UK Motion Picture Film Festival is not liable for any copyright infringement or unauthorized usage.
For each film submitted. Pick your main category that you wish to submit the film into. However your film will also automatically be in the running for all other suitable categories and may win an award for a category that you didn't initially submit to.
For example. If you submit your film to Best Film, you might not win Best film, but could find yourself a winner for Best Actor, Or Best Cinematography. this is to maximize your sore for winning but also of course to minimize the cost of your submission fees
