We are SPINNING REELS AWARDS (SRA)—an international indie festival, and we take great pride in being present on a well-established platform like FilmFreeway. We constantly strive to bring innovation and carve out a distinct identity for ourselves.

▶ We are accepting submissions for a number of categories and are open to all languages, as long as films in a language other than English are subtitled in English. All submissions must come through FilmFreeway◀

Our primary goal is to bring together both emerging and experienced filmmakers under one roof. At the same time, we aim to engage not only passionate indie film lovers but also those who are still discovering and exploring the world of independent cinema.
We are not just a festival—we serve as a meaningful bridge between indie filmmakers and audiences.

In simple terms, we are a vibrant meeting ground for indie cinema.

Awards & Prizes

Spinning Reels Awards offers an official Certificate & Laurel for all our participants and winners. Should anyone desire to subscribe to our trophy, the winner will be awarded a physical statuette.

At the end of every season the results and performances will be made available on our website and social media platforms.

At the conclusion of each season, we will host a physical live screening. During this event, we will provide Media & Press coverage, Live Interviews, and In-House Photo sessions with individual teams of filmmakers. Furthermore, we will share these on our official website and social media platforms.

Rules & Terms

Spinning Reels Awards is currently accepting submissions solely through Filmfreeway.

* It is essential to review all Rules and Terms prior to submission.*

1- To submit your film, you are required to possess a Filmfreeway account and must either be the owner or have the necessary permissions to submit the work to us.

2- The Festival will exclusively engage with the individual who submits the film. We will provide all relevant information regarding the event, the announcement date of results, certificates, and our offers via our official email address - spinningreelsawards@gmail.com.

3- Any foreign film that is not in English must include English subtitles for the audience.

4- A MOV/MP4 copy of the film, along with a poster, is mandatory for screening at our live event.

5- The Spinning Reels Awards reserves the right to disqualify any film if it is found to contain inappropriate content. Generally, we do not condone "Racism, Self Harm, Torture of Women or Children, or Body Shaming."

6- Filmmakers have the option to select and submit their projects in any category or to choose multiple categories that they believe are more suitable for their work. The decision is entirely theirs; if you contact us, we can provide guidance regarding the submission process for your film.

7- We do not accept or offer free submissions for any filmmakers, regardless of whether you are located in Iran. Therefore, please refrain from sending repeated emails requesting an entry fee waiver. We may offer a discount if we deem your project appropriate for such consideration.

8- All submissions require a nominal fee; thus, if you intend to submit, please keep in mind that payment is necessary. Our official trophy is contingent on the subscription you select, and we do not distribute any trophies for free because we ship internationally. Given that our submission fee is quite nominal, it is not feasible for us to provide complimentary trophies.

9-In terms of receiving a trophy, if you are located outside of India, the entire processing and delivery of the award will be completed within 30 days, as we do not ship individual trophies. Therefore, we kindly ask for your patience. In the event that you receive a damaged trophy, we will replace it, and we appreciate your cooperation; we assure you that you will not be disappointed.

10- Applicants (submitters) are required to accept the Rules and Terms of the Spinning Reels Awards.

*REFUND POLICY*

All submission fees are non-refundable. If you withdraw a submission from our festival within 24 hours of submission, we will refund your fee; however, after this period, we do not issue refunds as a festival policy.

If you wish to withdraw your submission after 24 hours, please contact us directly, and we will work towards a solution.
