All films that fall under the horror, thriller, suspense, Sci-Fi, WTF, dark drama, dark comedy, crime, western genres are welcome to enter. We are looking to showcase diverse stories and diverse creators.
All submissions must be in English, otherwise they must have English subtitles.
Submissions are exclusively through FilmFreeway and must be paid through your FilmFreeway account. Entry Fees are non-refundable.
Submissions must have a private screener link or be uploaded directly to FilmFreeway. No physical media will be considered in the submission process. If your film is available online or anywhere to the public, it will be disqualified and your entry fee will NOT be returned.
Official Selections will be determined and scored by an independent panel of judges composed of film academics, critics, filmmakers and other industry professionals.
Notifications will be made on or before the notification date of Jan 5, 2026 through FilmFreeway, so please make sure your contact information is up to date and accurate.
Final exhibition materials will be requested based on the venue's specifications.
Renegade Film Fest reserves the right to disqualify any submission without refund of submission fees.
Premieres are not a requirement, however we will consider premiere status when making final programming decisions.
The schedule of selected films is subject to change and is at the discretion of the Renegade Film Festival.
Renegade Film Festival does not pay screening fees for films submitted for competition. Any film produced or financed by a major motion picture studio or any film that has secured distribution will NOT be eligible to screen in competition, but rather, can screen out of competition at the festival.
Selected films must send deliverables in a timely manner. If a filmmaker does not send their deliverables to Renegade Film Festival by the requested date, the film will be removed from the program and replaced. Submission fees will NOT be refunded.
Any film produced by or involving a Renegade Team member is ineligible to screen for competitive awards. If program space is available, they can be considered to screen outside of competition.
Renegade Film Festival is hereby granted the right to use any excerpt from any film submitted and accepted for exhibition at the festival for promotional purposes. The festival is hereby also granted the right to use image(s) and/or biographical information of the filmmakers for promotional purposes.
It is the responsibility of the filmmaker to secure authorization for any copyrighted material that may be used in the film. The filmmaker shall indemnify and hold harmless Renegade Film Festival from and against any and all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney's fees, and costs of the court) which may be incurred by reason of any claim involving copyright, trademark, credits, publicity, screening, and loss of or damage to the screening videos entered.
By submitting your film, you acknowledge and agree to the above terms set forth in this agreement.
