OSIF is proud to once again host the Okanagan Screen Awards.

Taking place in the sunny paradise of Kelowna, BC, Canada; The Okanagan Screen Awards is a red carpet film festival, dedicated to celebrating local Okanagan filmmakers and talent.

We want to put your films and videos on the BIG screen! We know there's a trove of great local content out there waiting to be discovered.

We are looking for submissions from Okanagan/Thompson/Nicola/Kootenay productions ONLY. We do not accept project submissions from filmmakers outside this area, refunds will not be given.

• Feature Narrative • Feature Documentary
• Short Narrative (Local) • Short Documentary
• Music Videos • Animation

The Okanagan Screen Awards will be held on March 28-29, 2026.
March 28th will screen the narrative films, music videos, and animations. As well as host the awards show, and after party. March 29th will consist of an afternoon screening of the short and feature documentaries.

Awards & Prizes

A coveted 'Golden Apple' award will be awarded to the following categories:

Best Feature Narrative Film
Best Short Narrative Film
Best Feature Doc
Best Short Doc
Best Music Video
Best Animation

Additionally each category may award individual prizes (cinematography, editing, audio, acting, etc.)

Rules & Terms

ELIGIBILITY & RULES:

Make sure your film follows OSIF's AI in Filmmaking Policy - www.osif.org/ai

Local Okanagan and surrounding areas projects ONLY - you must reside, or the production must have taken place, within the Okanagan/Thompson/Nicola/Kootenay Regions to enter (Kelowna, Vernon, Penticton, Osoyoos, Salmon Arm, Revelstoke, Kamloops, Merritt, Trail, Nelson, Cranbrook, etc). Please inquire if outside or close to surrounding area. No refunds will be given to submissions from outside these areas.

*Projects must contain a majority of local cast/crew, and principal shooting must be within the above areas*

**OSIF Member Discounts on Entry Fees Available. If you are an OSIF member (www.osif.org/membership), please inquire to get discount code before submitting.**

Please only submit your project to only one category. If submitted to multiple, we will choose the best category to send to judges as we see fit, and no refund will be given for the other categories entered. If you are unsure which category you should enter, please submit to the 'Miscellaneous' category.

Films not in English language must have English subtitles.

No premiere requirements, and films may already be available online.

All films must have been completed between 2023 and 2026.

All film selections will be notified, and will be required to provide a HD or 4K .MOV or .MP4 of the film.

Selected films will only be screened once on the event date.

Selected films wishing not to use their 'Official Premiere', can request to screen as a 'Preview', but will not be eligible for any awards.

Selected films won't be uploaded or shared online without the submitter's prior permission unless already released online and public.

Submitter grants us authorization to show elements, still images or film extracts, of the entered film for promotional purposes if required.

Submitter understands that there will be many submissions, and only a certain amount of screen time available. Not all submissions will be picked to screen at the event.

Submitter agrees they have read and understood all the terms and conditions, rules and guidelines before submitting a project.

    Was a pleasure viewing our short film “Jockey” at Okanagan Screen Awards! The theatre used for screening provided the films with excellent visual and audio quality. The awards venue was also extremely organized and great for networking. I would highly recommend attending if you are interested in supporting independent film in the Okanagan.
