Nuit Trop Courte - International Short Film Festival

Diversity, creativity, and freedom.

These are the values that our short film festival aims to defend. Nuit Trop Courte is organized by FRAMES, a student association of around twenty passionate film students, who also serve as the festival’s selection committee and jury. We carefully gather and view productions by talented student filmmakers from all over the world.

To participate, all you have to do is be a passionate student filmmaker and share your production with us.

Caring, curious, and dedicated, the FRAMES team is delighted each year to present the nominated short films over two evenings at Le Club cinema (France). So, if you wish to gain visibility and recognition, don't hesitate to share your creativity in this wonderful festival.

Awards & Prizes

Last year, we presented 4 categories:
- Best Drama
- Best Thriller
- Best Animation
- Best Atypical (which was the Public's choice !)

This year, we are delighted to continue celebrating creativity, originality, and talent in short filmmaking. Each winning film will receive official recognition from the festival, a certificate, and the opportunity to be showcased in future festival events and promotional materials.

The Public’s Choice category allows the audience to vote for their favorite film during the festival screenings, giving filmmakers direct feedback and visibility from the viewers.

Rules & Terms

> You have to be a student to apply for the festival.

> Language : All films must be in English or have English subtitles.

> Film Age : Submitted films must not be older than 2 years (completed after June 13, 2024).

> Screening or Rental Fees : Nuit Trop Courte does NOT consider films that require screening/rental fees.

> Total Running Time : Maximum 25 minutes for all films.

> Prior Screenings : Entries cannot have had a commercial release or TV broadcast before June 13, 2026. Private or press screenings are allowed.

> Completion Date : Films must be completed before the deadline.

> Independent Production : Films financed or produced by major studios are NOT eligible. Distribution agreements including US sales make films ineligible.

> Film Promotion & Interviews : Requests for interviews will be forwarded to filmmakers.

> The festival may use up to 5-minute segments from accepted films for promotional purposes.

I am infinitely grateful for the fantastic stay you offered me. It was simply incredible, the craziest film festival imaginable, a whimsical dream born from an unbridled imagination ! Brilliant ! I had a crazy week-end and felt 120 years younger... Ciao and thank you all, you happy bunch of film buffs! !!!...

    Merci pour votre retour. Pour clarifier, ce commentaire concerne une édition précédente : depuis, l’équipe a changé et le suivi des candidatures a été fortement amélioré. Les primés des années passées ont tous été contactés, donc si vous n’aviez rien reçu à l’époque, c’est probablement que ce n’était pas le cas. Nous espérons que votre prochaine expérience avec nous sera beaucoup plus fluide !
