Established in 2011, the Global Music Awards is a well-known international music competition which celebrates independent musicians. Global Music Awards is widely recognized by industry insiders as giving legitimacy to highly talented artists. ‘Global Music Awards is recognized as music's golden seal of approval.’

Each year, Global Music Awards receives hundreds of entries from around the world. If you receive Global Music Award honors you will know that you music stands-out internationally, across cultures. You are being judged in an international competition, not just an American competition. We discourage someone saying he or she was "nominated" for a Global Music Award simply because an entry was sent to us.

Occasionally the judges will recognize exceptional new artists or groups for honors without direct entry.

Global Music Awards has three special honors, each awarded annually to a musician for a group of musicians. Our goal is to say thank you to very special musicians who make the world a better place through their music.

Odyssey Award - Lifetime Achievement in Music
Humanitarian Award - Music Dedicated to Social Justice, Charitable Causes or Environmental Issues
Heretic Award - Protest/Activist Music

Rules & Terms

After your submission is received your entry goes through a multi-layered judging process including listener impact, technical quality, uniqueness and styling. Like most music competitions all first-level judging is conducted by Global Music’s in-house professionals. Entries judged to be potential Gold winners may be sent to outside judges for additional review. The last step in the judging process is to review all entries recommended for Gold, Silver, and Bronze Medals once again in order to maintain consistency and high standards across all judging categories.

1. Submissions may be of any genre, any length.
2. Songs in other than English must include a copy of the written lyrics.
3. Written comments describing your entry and publicity materials are invited and helpful during the judging process.
4. Entries will not be returned.
