Welcome to the 3rd edition of Angler Fish Film Festival!
From the dark waters of Berlin, the Angler Fish Film Festival surfaces a student-led celebration of everything that lurks in the shadows.
Like the creature we’re named after, we shine a fragile light into the abyss, searching for films that dare to stare into the dark and make the dark stare back.

We embrace horror in all its shapes: bone-chilling shorts, unsettling thrillers, twisted dark comedies, and experimental nightmares. Whether polished or raw, hauntingly beautiful or disturbingly strange, your film has a place here.

With free submissions first deadline we believe fear should be shared without barriers. In Berlin, we gather to revel in the uncanny, to share stories that linger long after the screen goes black, and to celebrate bold voices unafraid of the shadows.

Rules & Terms

Rules & Terms

- Genres: Horror, Dark/Psychological Thriller, Dark Comedy, Dark Experimental (any or all).

- Length: Shorts ≤ 30 min.

IF LONGER THAN 30 MINUTES NOT GUARANTEED

- Rights: You must hold all rights (film, music, images, etc.).

-Content: No discrimination or hate speech shown positively or negatively. Extreme content is welcome if artistically justified, but not exploitative. No political affiliations.

-Submissions: Free before first deadline and open worldwide. Multiple entries allowed (submit separately).
DO NOT SUBMIT THE SAME PROJECTS MULTIPLE TIMES. They will automatically be disqualified.

- Format: Screeners via FilmFreeway. Selected films provide a high-quality file (DCP).

- Language: Non-English films require English subtitles!!!!!!!!!

Submission ≠ selection. Programming decisions are final.
