To be held by the Artistic and Cultural Organization of Tehran Municipality with the goal of identifying remarkable aspects of Urban Life Patterns and innovative cinematic works and creating a platform for exchange of ideas and experiences among world cities.
Films that use an eloquent artistic vision to promote a blissful human life will be considered for the competition section.
The 6th Urban International Film Festival will be held from 30th July to 5th August, 2017 in Tehran

Awards & Prizes

Feature Films in International Competition:
• Best Film (jointly to producer and director) + Trophy +1500 US Dollar Cash Prize
• Best Director + Trophy +1000 US Dollar Cash Prize
• Best Actor + Trophy +1000 US Dollar
• Best Actress+ Trophy +1000 US Dollar
• Best Script + Trophy +1000 US Dollar
• Special Jury Prize to Outstanding Artistic Contribution in the categories of camera, editing, music score, costume or set design + Trophy +1000 US Dollar
- The Prize list must not contain joint awards.
- No films can receive more than two awards.
Short Films in International Competition:
• Best Short Film + Trophy + 1000 US Cash Prize (awarded to the film director)

Rules & Terms

Eligible films for Main Sections:
The Eligible films for all the sections should meet the following conditions:
1- International Films that have been completed after January 1st 2015
2- Iranian Films that have been completed after January 1st 2015
3- The International Premier Films have got the high priority
4- Films that respect the aims of the festival as defined in article
5- The submission form must be completed by the producer or international distributor of the film.
6- In case of submission in previous editions, the film is not eligible to be submitted again.

• Feature films (fiction, documentary, animation) of at least 70 minutes running time, intended for theatrical release.
• Short films (fiction, documentary, animation) of at most 15 minutes running time.

• Previewing Format: DVD screener with English Subtitle or downloadable links (Vimeo, Dropbox, or ftp)

- All the needed documents are mentioned in the film entry
The completed entry form, printed and signed by the producer or the international distributor of the film, as well as the previewing versions for selection must reach the Festival Office before the assigned deadline (May 10th 2017).

• Accepted Formats: Non-encrypted DCP, Apple ProRes 4444 or Full HD File (plus a blu-ray backup) with English subtitles.

- The Publicity material for the selected films should be send to the festival office before the assigned deadline (Jun 10th 2017).

    The 6th Urban International Film Festival gave me the most 'rockstar' treatment of my life. Everything was beautifully organised and taken care of. As international guests, our every need was catered for - from travel expenses to delicious meals and accommodation. And being given such excellent tours around Tehran was a real bonus. It made for developing some great friendships that I hope to keep in touch for years to come. Congratulations to the whole team for providing a really wonderful experience!
