Vaaranam International Film Festival is a fresh film Festival showcasing new talents and upcoming filmmakers.Aiming to promote diversity in the film industry and create an open connecting platform where all are welcome,Our screening programme features fiction films and documentaries of all genres. All filmmakers regardless of background are welcome to submit their creations.

Rules & Terms

1. All films must be submitted in English or with English subtitles (if in a different language).
2. Short films must not exceed 45 minutes.
3. Filmmakers are responsible for sorting out the copyright on their own materials.
4. Nominations: These are all the films that have been nominated for an award in a category. Not all nominated films will be screened.
5. We may promote clips from your film on social media, based on the press kits you provide us with.
6. We cannot provide refunds.
7. If you have submitted your project in the previous year, please do not resubmit the same project to the current edition.

    Vaaranam IFF invited a particular film submission; and the film received an award as predicted by VIFF. Our other two films also received recognition. Thus, we are delighted to continue developing films in these genres for the community served by the VIFF. And, look forward to participating in future editions of the VIFF.

    Whilst I'm grateful to receive an award, my inbox has been hammered lately by a string of Indian Film Festivals asking me to participate. They're all the same.....first year festivals, cheap entry fees, numerous categories of awards......yet no websites or Facebook pages. It seems like they hand out awards for everyone. One festival did have a website, and upon perusing the Winners......I found several filmmakers got the same award as others. Be wary!
