Agreeing to participate in a IFOFF Online Film Festival means that you agree to the following mandatory conditions:
· You agree to participate in the IFO NYC Film Festival
· Your submission is a final cut and includes no advertisements.
· The official language of the Festival is English. Non-English language films must have English subtitles.
· Uploading a digital, high-resolution screening copy of your film to FilmFreeway. Your submission is INCOMPLETE unless your film is downloadable in high resolution in your FilmFreeway submission. VIIFF will not replicate, duplicate, sell, or make a profit off of your film.
· Provide 3 high-quality film stills and a film poster with your FilmFreeway submission.
· Provide a trailer if you have one.
· If your film is selected as a winner, you agree to allow your film to be shown in an online event.
ELIGIBILITY
Applicants must have full rights to the films submitted including all people, images, and music therein. By submitting to the Festival, the filmmaker confirms that (i) they have obtained authorization from persons appearing in the film or otherwise have the right to film them; (ii) all content is their own work, (iii) the filmmaker has the right to use all content.
There is no time limit by which the film must have been completed, but preference will be given to relevant and salient subject matter.

JUDGING
The winning films will be selected by a panel of expert judges. Winning filmmakers will be announced online.
PRIZES
A recorded acceptance speech is optional.

Film file name should clearly reflect the actual title of the film. There should be no slates,
bars/tone or extraneous information contained in the file. The backup file should match
identically to the submitted video file in duration and on-screen content. The film should have 3
seconds of black before first frame of action or audio and 3 seconds of black after last image or
audio at the end.

We are accepting submissions for Feature Narrative and Documentary, Short Narrative and Documentary focused on Italian, or Italian American talent, themes, culture, style, history or production.
If you are a Writer, Director, Actor, Cinematographer, etc we want to see/read your work. All genres and time periods are welcome and may be submitted.
Works in progress will be accepted. Each entry must be submitted separately.
Every Entry must include a Downloadable Trailer and trailer link.
Online screeners are accepted for submission and for consideration by the Selection Committee.
All entries will be judged on content, creativity, imagery, story and skill of the Filmmaker.
Films and Screenplays SELECTED for the VIIFF will be announced no later than April 1, 2020 (exceptions may be made if deemed necessary by THE VIIFF).
Shorts will play prior to a Feature or in a Shorts program. The Festival programming Staff will place your film in the appropriate category.

Submitting filmmakers acknowledge they have the legal right to exhibit the film and the collateral/promo materials at the VIIFF.
Venus Italian International Film Festival is hereby granted the right to utilize footage and promotional materials supplied by the submitting agent from any film submitted and accepted film, video, or project for exhibition at the Festival for promotional purposes. All accepted filmmakers agree that the VIIFF may use footage from their projects in order to promote the festival, their film or the VIIFF Event via print, web and broadcast television. The individual or corporation submitting the film hereby warrants that it is authorized to commit the film for screening, and understands and accepts these requirements and regulations. The undersigned shall indemnify and hold harmless VIIFF, its producers, vendors, sponsors and supporters from and against any and all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney's fees, and costs of the court) which may be incurred by reason of any claim involving copyright, trademark, credits, publicity, screening, and loss of or damage to the screening videos entered.
Written Word Submission Rules
We are currently accepting written word submissions for features, shorts, short shorts, .
All genres are welcome.
One copy of an original feature film screenplay uploaded as a PDF file will be accepted. (Do NOT include more than 1 version). We do not accept hardcopy scripts.
The screenplay should be in standard industry format (12 point Courier).
Only one copy, draft or version of any screenplay may be submitted by an entrant or entrants per submission.
Under no circumstances will substitutions of either corrected pages or new drafts of an entry screenplay be allowed under the original submission.
Corrected or edited screenplays must be resubmitted as a NEW entry and will require a separate submission fee.
Multi-part scripts should be submitted as separate, stand-alone screenplays.
Features that are over 120 pages must be submitted as 2 different entries.
Entry fees will not be returned or adjusted.

Submissions must be the original work of the entrant(s) and may not be based, in whole or in part, on any other fiction or nonfiction material, published or unpublished, produced or un-produced.
Entries may, however, be adapted from the entrant’s (or entrants’) original work, which should be noted in the logline required on the application form.
Entries lacking a logline on the application form will be disqualified.
If the script is based on a true story, historical or contemporary, the "based on true story/events" button should be noted in the logline.
Collaborative work by two writers who share equally in its creation is eligible.
The collaborator’s name must be added during the online application process.
All entries must be received by or before the Extended Deadline of 7.1.2019
Nominees/Winners will be announced at the Award Show and Dinner. We do not ship Awards.
Entry fees will not be returned or adjusted.
