The International Art Film Festival (IAFFEST) focuses on appreciating the endeavours of film makers through awards and rewards to increase the exposure of existing productions and quality of future films.

IAFFEST entails:

* A film-making seminar in collaboration with industry leaders for all semi-finalists
* In each category, there's a reward attached to the award for the winner
* CSR: outreaches to less privileged and orphans to provide support
* Closing the gap between talented film makers and a global audience

Qualifying filmmakers who submit their films stand a chance of winning one of our numerous prizes. IAFFEST gives selected films a customized laurel and certificate of participation. Category winners are awarded and rewarded accordingly.

All award winners are credited on IMDb and receive a laurel and verifiable certificate of achievement.

I genuinely do not think this festival is real. There was no event on or offline. I tried to contact them directly via the festival email as I had no idea what was supposed to be happening having been 'selected'. But that message was not delivered (the email address was defunct) and so I complained to FF, and then, eventually, got one message from the festival, via FF only (not direct) saying they would be in touch soon about the event, but they never did get in touch again. Then I noticed, by chance, a link on their Facebook page claiming the online event had already happened, but a day earlier than advertised. As someone apparently 'selected', this is ridiculous. I did not 'miss' any messages and have never had issues with failed messages via FF. The website link has never worked.

This festival is a scam! The festival never happened.
I received a notification through filmfreeway that my film had been selected, but the provided email address and website were non-existant, and I was never contacted directly by the festival. Also, they don't provide name or address of the cinema where it was supposed to happen. And if one looks closely at their photos, these were all shot in Lagos, one of them in front of black plastic bags! I find it almost comical that even though is so gross, filmfreeway didn't see it, neither did I.

    Response from festival:

First of all, we’re really sorry to hear that you feel this way. We completely understand how frustrating and disappointing it must have been to receive a selection notification and then feel unable to reach us afterward. From your perspective, that would naturally raise concerns, and we truly empathize with that experience.

We’d like to clarify that we did not receive any emails from you regarding this matter. If there was a technical issue or incorrect contact detail at any point, we sincerely apologize for the confusion that may have caused. It was never our intention to appear unreachable or unresponsive.

Regarding the photos you mentioned, some of them were taken during our outreach visit to an orphanage home in Lagos, which we were proud to support alongside the festival activities. That may explain the setting you observed in certain images.

We also encourage you to take a look at the other reviews and feedback from filmmakers who have participated, as many have shared positive experiences. That said, we respect that your experience did not meet your expectations, and for that, we’re genuinely sorry.

We truly wish you the very best with your film and your future projects.
