Nana Papadaki is a Greek actress, theater and film director, poet, and writer. A graduate of Greek Art Theater Karolos Koun, Film School E. Hatzikou, Athens University of Economics and Business, German School of Athens, she works as an actress since the first year of her theater studies.
At Greek Art Theater Karolos Koun she performed in Euripides’ «Iphigenia at Aulis», Athens and Epidaurus Festival, dir. Giorgos Lazanis, «The Little Prince» by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, dir. Mimis Kougioumzis, «Woyzeck» by G. Buechner, dir. Giorgos Lazanis, «Big and Small» by Botho Strauss, dir. Thodoris Grampsas. At the National Theater of Greece, in Euripides’ «Medea», dir. Stathis Livathinos, Athens and Epidaurus Festival, tour in Greece and abroad (North Macedonia, USA). At National Theater of Northern Greece, in experimental approaches to Marivaux, Kane, Jarry, Racine, and Euripides, under the conduction of Nikaiti Kontouri, directed by Yannis Paraskevopoulos, Nikos Sakalidis, Ektoras Lygizos, at the Royal Theater’s Backstage. She has also collaborated with Pepi Economopoulou, Ioli Andreadi, Dimos Avdeliodis, Stamatis Fasoulis, Marlene Kaminsky, Mirka Yemendzakis etc. She collaborated with Roula Pateraki in Thucydides’ «Peloponnesian War» at Small Epidaurus, at the Athens and Epidaurus Festival, in Dimitris Dimitriadis’ «Dying as a Country» at the Municipal Theater of Piraeus, «Niki, tonight at the party» by Niki Triantafyllidi. She has acted in many plays of contemporary Greek and classical repertoire performing several leading roles.
She has directed the philosophical platonic dialogue «Ion», Christa Wolf’s «Cassandra» in the german language, she directed and performed «Beneath the Shadow of the Mountain» by Yannis Ritsos in Athens, Elefsis and Brussels.
Her fourth book «Primordial» (Melani Pubs, 2023) was longlisted for Poetry Awards 2023 of Literary Magazine «Hartis». Her previous book «Encore-Women of Odyssey» focuses on the female figures of the Homeric epic. Her poems have been translated into English, German and Spanish.
Her recent co-directing of the poetry film «Primordial» has won seven international film awards and participated in international festivals in Greece, Brazil, Mexico, Russia, United Kingdom, France, Bulgaria, Serbia, India, USA etc.
She is the artistic director of Maldoror non – profit company, with which she has presented seven theatrical productions with most recent «Timandra» by the multi- award winning Greek writer Theodor Kallifatides staged for the first time in Greece.
