LIMPA — London International Motion Pictures Awards — is an annual event officially recognized on IMDb, where it has its own official page:

https://www.imdb.com/event/ev0009465/

Our fourth awards edition was held at Regents University London on May 25, 2019,
consolidating the festival's presence within the London cultural landscape.
Since its creation, LIMPA has had a clear objective: to disseminate film culture, recognize artistic progress in all branches of the seventh art, and strengthen the connection between filmmakers from around the world. Its spirit was born from the union between performing arts and cinema during its first three editions, giving rise to a unique identity that merges both disciplines. Over time, that dream took definitive shape: this is how LIMPA emerged as we know it today.

Each month, the festival evaluates and awards selected works, granting official LIMPA laurels that provide access to the annual event. Its philosophy is simple and direct: to give visibility and recognition to the best cinema and promote emerging and established talent on an international scale.

A Shared Philosophy: The Films Infest Manifesto

Although LIMPA maintains a completely independent and distinct identity, it shares an artistic vision aligned with the spirit of the Films Infest Manifesto. This manifesto — sponsored by Claudia Cardinale at the first edition of Films Infest Mallorca in 2017, held at the Fundación Miró — defends creative freedom, the strength of auteur cinema, and the diversity of voices and experiences.

LIMPA is not part of Films Infest, nor vice versa; it simply shares the fundamental values that this manifesto expresses, which also inspire our commitment to honest, brave, and plural cinema.

Special Edition 2026: International Expansion in New York

LIMPA celebrates events in London, Spain, and New York thanks to its network of collaborating festivals. This year 2026, in a very special way, the festival will experience a key moment with an extraordinary edition in New York in partnership with NYC Films Infest, both produced by Screen Art.

This joint edition is specifically designed to strengthen international projection and increase the visibility of our films, artists, and collaborators. The awards ceremony will be held at The National, one of New York's most iconic cultural spaces, in late October 2026.

This exceptional New York event does not replace LIMPA's London identity but amplifies it, offering a broader platform to creators and consolidating the cultural bridge between Europe and the United States.

RULES AND REGULATIONS 2026 – SPECIAL EDITION: LIMPA x NYC FILMS INFEST
FESTIVAL PHILOSOPHY

LIMPA maintains its own independent identity and curatorial line. However, both LIMPA and NYC Films Infest share the same artistic spirit expressed in the Films Infest Manifesto — a declaration of principles endorsed by Claudia Cardinale at the first edition of Films Infest Mallorca in 2017 at the Miró Foundation.

This Manifesto, while belonging to Films Infest, articulates values that LIMPA also embraces: the defence of creative freedom, the celebration of independent and auteur-driven cinema, and the commitment to diverse, courageous and personal filmmaking. These shared principles serve as a philosophical foundation for this special combined edition, without merging the identities of the festivals. LIMPA remains unique and autonomous.

Although this sounds like a great festival, the communication this year has been extremely poor. Despite being a finalist, we have had virtually no communication from the festival despite numerous emails, social media messages, etc. The films where shown early December online, which is great considering the global pandemic but it is now almost the end of April and we still do not have any idea of winners. If there has been problems behind the scenes, then there should be transparency. No date set for announcement. It has also been 10 weeks since the last communication from the festival despite consistent emails asking for details. I would NOT recommend this festival going forward.

Despite all the pressures and confusions caused by COVID L.I.M.P.A have managed to pull off a wonderful festival. Brilliant! Wonderful to be involved.
