FiLMS for World Peace builds community through film. We want to partner with high schools, colleges and organizations who believe in the power of story. We are involved in film productions, story coaching, education projects, travel service learning, festival programing and refugee outreach and advocacy. We value viewpoint diversity, courageous Truth-seeking and crazy imagination.

Since 2018 the FiLMS for World Peace FESTiVAL has invited international students and new filmmakers to participate in our local and online celebration of film, creativity and the human spirit. We challenge our participants to give us films that help us transform conflict into discovery that we may ultimately transcend fear, violence and neglect towards ourselves and others. Our organization feels a deep need for East and West to simply do better. We seek films that open the eyes of our hearts and challenge our certainties. After experimenting with various formats large and small, we have decided that our international call for submissions for an online film festival will begin commence on January 1, 2026. and our online festival will be from September 18th to September 21, The International Day of Peace.

Rules & Terms

Requirements:

Length: Films need to be 40 minutes or less. We prefer most films sit on the shorter end of that spectrum—the average film we feature is between 7- 10 minutes.

Premiere Status: No premiere status is required, however, we give preference to films that haven’t yet premiered online. So, don’t wait to submit your film.

Rights: We require films to have all necessary rights and releases secured for us to feature them. Yes, this includes music.

    We are thrilled that a Festival with such an aim exists. Bravo! Thank you for selecting our film "Away from guns". Unfortunately, the festival couldn't be held because of the COVID-19 crisis. Maybe it will be possible to have it in the autumn, hope to hear from you.
