Ischia Film Festival is an international competition devoted to film location.
The festival is born with the aim of conferring an artistic award to the works, the photography directors and the set designers who have increased the value of Italian or foreign locations and represented their human, historical and social reality and thus promoting the culture, the traditions and the beauties, inspiring the audience to visit them and experience directly the emotions received.
In the Ischia Film Festival competition, documentaries and short films which have given particular importance to culture, traditions, to the environment and history of the locations, or in which the location is functional to the theme in question and its narrative development, can take part.
The works can be both unpublished and published, but necessarily presented to the audience after 1st January 2016.
The short films in competition must have a length of maximum 30 minutes.

Awards & Prizes

Each work selected will be offered holiday in Ischia, for one night (if the author is Italian) or two nights (if the author comes from abroad).
The Festival does not award cash prizes. The Festival Management will appoint a jury of experts who are entrusted with allocating the following prizes:
“Ischia Film” Award to the feature film, documentary and short film that have most enhanced the locations.
“Ischia Film” Award to the documentary or short film of the “Denied Location” section.
The Jury has the right to allocate, among the works in competition, special awards and mentions.
The Festival Management, together with the honour Committee and Board of Directors, will also allocate the following prizes:
“Castello Aragonese” award to the best director
“Aenaria” award to the best set designer
“Epomeo” award to the best photography director

Rules & Terms

ORGANIZATION
Ischia Film Festival is organized by the Art Movie & Music cultural Association, with the assent of the President of the Republic and the high Patronage of the European Parlament.

DATE AND DURATION
The 15th Ischia Film Festival will take place in Ischia from 24th June to 1st July 2017 or on another date that will be promptly communicated to all the members.

OBJECTIVES
Ischia Film Festival is born with the aim of conferring an artistic award to the works, the photography directors and the set designers who have increased the value of Italian or foreign locations and represented their human, historical and social reality and thus promoting the culture, the traditions and the beauties, inspiring the audience to visit them and experience directly the emotions received.
Ischia Film Festival also aims at being a place of research, analysis and comparison on the international cinema linked to the Movie Tourism phenomenon.

COMPETITION
1. In the Ischia Film Festival competition, documentaries and short films which have given particular importance to culture, traditions, to the environment and history of the locations, or in which the location is functional to the theme in question and its narrative development, can take part.
2. The works can be both unpublished and published, but necessarily presented to the audience after 1st January 2016.
3. The short films in competition must have a length of maximum 30 minutes.
4. The works selection is done according to the unquestionable judgment of the Festival Management and the selection Committee.

REGISTRATION
1. The festival is open to Italian and International Feature Films, Documentaries and Short Films, screened to the public for the first time in 2016 or 2017. The films must exhibit a special focus on the location or the cultural identity of the territory in which they were shot.
2. To participate in the Festival it is necessary accept the regulation.

SELECTED WORKS – SCREENINGS - CATALOGUE
1. There will not be any remuneration for the screening of the works included in the Festival official selection. All the delivery charges (including possible transportation charges from the airport and all customs operations for material coming from outside the EU) are at
the participant’s expense (return), unless otherwise agreed with the Festival Management.
2. Due to the historical and architectural nature of the location that hosts the festival, it is not possible to show the selected works on DCP. For this reason, files, Blu-ray Discs or DVDs with no inscriptions or halftone screening will be required. In case we will not receive the screening copies in these formats, the DVDs or files provided for selection purposes will be used instead.
3. Foreign films must be subtitled in Italian or English by the participants. This can be done also after the selection according to the audience of the screening.
4. Only in case of selection, participants must send the work advertising material in Italian and/or English language, which will be used by the press and accredited participants. This material must be received by the Festival secretary’s office within 15th June 2017 with the following information: “Selected work for Ischia Film Festival – advertising material”.
5. The Festival Management will take care of the publication of a general catalogue of the presented works.
6. The calendar and times of the screenings are to be decided by the Festival Management and can be modified due to reasons beyond the control of the organization (weather conditions, technical problems, other possible needs). The program will be printed and spread by the Festival Management that will communicate via Internet any unexpected change.

AWARDS
The Festival does not award cash prizes but all of the selected authors will be entitled to one night's hotel accommodation in Ischia (the night in which their work will be shown.) For authors (in competition) from abroad hotel hospitality will be extended to two nights.

GENERAL RULES
1. The present regulation is drawn up both in Italian and English; in case of problems arising from the interpretation of the same, the Italian version will be applied.
2. The sending of this form and the following delivery of the works implies the whole acceptance of this regulation. Any irregularity or non-fulfillment of this regulation will void the participation in the Festival.
3. The works will be selected according to unquestionable evaluation of the selection Committee.
4. The judgments concerning the awards of the works in competition are unquestionable.
5. The Festival Management can take decisions concerning matters that are not provided by this regulation.
6. The sending of the works and audiovisual material implies the authorization, which is not exclusive, for the Festival organizers to spread and make available to the public –through the website and any other means- pictures, clips or sequences of the works presented, up to a length of 2’ and only for the Festival promotion. Unless otherwise indicated by the author in the form.
7. The copyright owners of the selected works are entitled to authorize or deny its distribution on Internet or television broadcasting during other programs dedicated to the Festival and its participants.
8. According to the Leg.D. 196/03 (on personal data processing): the Festival organizers are the owners of the personal data sent. They use personal data only for the participation in the Festival and for further information on relating activities. Data are available for any correction or modification about their use.
9. Any form of promotion after the Festival must indicate the eventual awards won by the audiovisual work at Ischia Film Festival, possibly showing the official logo provided by the Festival organization, which is available at the secretary’s offices or can be downloaded from the website.
In case of any dispute, the competent authority is the Court of Ischia or Naples (Italy).
