Now in its 10th year, the Bushwick Film Festival has become an industry staple for new talent and a premiere voice for independent cinema in Brooklyn. We have showcased local and international filmmakers from more than 30 countries, providing a platform for diverse stories from all people, especially women, people of color and the LGBT community. Located in Bushwick, the bustling center of Brooklyn’s artistic and cultural community, the festival offers four days full of screenings, panels, workshops, parties and networking opportunities. We encourage our filmmakers, industry professionals and audiences to engage, share and collaborate in an eclectic and open-minded atmosphere to form new alliances, expand horizons and share our common passion for independent film. After a decade full of fantastic screenings, people and moments, we are as driven as ever to continue our quest to share amazing stories with an ever growing audience and we hope you will join us!

Can't say enough about my experience with the Bushwick Film Festival.

The screening was packed, everything looked and sounded incredible, all of the other shorts were great, and the team was so attentive, communicative and kind throughout.

It was an honor to be a part of. Hope I can come back next year!

BFF was so much fun to be a part of and I was SO impressed with the other films that screened, especially the other shorts in the block mine was a part of. The staff was communicative during the whole process, and really great at the festival. They stay true to their mission of diversity, too. So happy to have been a part of it.

What an honor it was to be included at Bushwick Film Festival this year. BFF, thank you for your continued focus on inclusion and equality + for your warm hospitality. To our fellow filmmakers, this is one of the most well run, organized festivals we've been a part of.

I've screened my documentary web series at BFF twice (2014 and 2017). The most recent festival showed me just how huge and ambitious this festival has become, but the warm and inclusive personality that attracted me in the first place hasn't changed a bit.

Kweighbaye, Joseph, and their team have created the most diverse independent festival I've ever attended, treating everyone with love and seeing filmmakers as parts of a community, not potential commodities. Their combination of professionalism and sheer enthusiasm for the work is a rare gift that you'll be lucky to share if you screen here.

    Thanks, Bushwick Film Festival!

We were the opening night film and felt like a member of the family since the very first email notification letting us know we were in. From there, the experience kept getting better. It's truly rare to feel an immediate sense of community in something that can be as cut throat as the NY Indie film scene but Kweighbaye, Joseph and the entire team have found a way to cut through or step around this and bring people together. BFF is the future of indie film in NYC, for sure, and we're proud to have been a part of it. xxoo
