Douglas Williams is a playwright and filmmaker.
Williams’ play SHIP was awarded the Osborn New Play Award by the American Theatre Critics Association and was a finalist for the Steinberg Award.
He co-founded the critically acclaimed theatre company Orbiter 3 with Pulitzer Prize-winner James Ijames. His plays have been produced and developed by Azuka Theatre, SPACE on Ryder Farm, Theatre Horizon, Great Plains Theatre Conference, PlayPenn, Palm Beach Dramaworks, The Foundry, InterAct Theatre, FringeArts, Baylor Stage, Bristol Riverside Theatre, and Washington College, among others.
His films have screened at the Atlanta Film Festival, Independent Film Festival Boston, DC Shorts, the Woods Hole Film Festival, the Philadelphia Film Society, the Arizona International Film Festival, the Crown Heights Film Festival, and more.
He is represented by WME and lives in Philadelphia.
