The Bushwick Film Festival (BFF) is so proud to be celebrating its 15th anniversary this year! Over the past 15 years BFF has become an industry staple for new talent and a premiere space for independent cinema in Brooklyn. We have showcased the works of over 700 local and international filmmakers from more than 60 countries, providing a platform for diverse stories. Located in Bushwick, one of Brooklyn’s most creative and culturally rich communities, the festival offers five days full of screenings, panels, events, and networking opportunities.

With a long history full of fantastic screenings, people, and moments, we are as driven as ever to continue our quest to share amazing stories with an ever-growing audience. We are so proud to be celebrating 15 years of showcasing independent films from the best emerging filmmakers from Brooklyn and around the world and we hope you will join us!

  • We were very honored to have our documentary Street Heroines selected for the Bushwick Film Festival. Being Brooklyn-based filmmakers it was a nice homecoming. Unfortunately we didn't have an in-person screening due to covid-19 but we did attend the 1 day of screenings to support and meet other filmmakers. Appreciate the virtual industry events too! Look forward to the continual growth of BFF and all the talent it nurtures.

  • One of the best festivals that I had the privilege of going to. I was glad that my film Troubled Times was able to have a live screening at the Regal cinema in downtown Brooklyn. The theatre was nice and packed and the after party drinks with the other filmmakers and people was very cool. Very well put together with very helpful staff. Got to see a lot of other great films as well. The opening night mixer was great and fun with the red carpet as well. I would highly recommend submitting to this festival. It is put together with a lot of care and consideration!!!!!

What a great festival — inspiring & diverse programming, excellent networking opportunities (even in the midst of Covid!), fab Brooklyn locations, impeccable communication. Such an honor to have held my first live screening here. Thank you BFF for including The Writing Box!

One of my absolute favorite New York festivals. BFF knows how to throw great events for their filmmakers. While I missed our feature having an in-person screening, the virtual platform was a great way to share the film with a lot more people. Can't wait to see how the fest continues to grow in years to come!
