XIV EDITION OF THE PIÉLAGOS INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL
The Department of Culture of Piélagos Town Council is launching the 14th edition of the Piélagos International Film Festival "Piélagos en Corto".
SHORT FILMS
Works of maximum 25 minutes and production date after 1st January 2022 will be accepted.
CATEGORIES only SPAIN only fiction
1- CANTABRIA , Cantabrian director or director registered in Cantabria with 2 years of seniority.
2- NATIONAL (Only fiction)
CATEGORIES for ALL OVER THE WORLD
3- INTERNATIONAL (Fiction only)
4- ANIMATION (All types of animation are accepted)
FEATURE FILMS
Works of minimum 65 minutes and maximum 120 minutes will be accepted, which are the first or second directorial work (fiction) of their director.
5- PUESTA DE LARGO only fiction (First feature film, with 2021 or later production)
For all works, both feature films and short films, embedded subtitles in Spanish will be required if this is not the language of the dialogues.
GENERAL CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
- All producers or directors who own the rights to the works they submit are eligible to participate.
- Each participant may submit as many works as they wish as long as they comply with the terms and conditions.
- The works must be subtitled in Spanish if this is not the original audio language.
- Works selected in previous editions will not be accepted, but works that were not selected may be submitted as long as they comply with the rest of the rules.
Entries may only be submitted ONLINE via the platforms specified on the social networks and the website at the time of the opening of the deadline.
Entries will be made in only one of the existing categories.
The initial selection of a work to form part of the official programme and to be screened during the festival does not imply its final nomination for any of the awards.

The deadline for entries begins on 1 September 2023 and ends on 31 January 2024.
Once a work has been entered in the competition, it may be withdrawn from the competition, but the fees will not be refunded.
The organization assumes that the persons or groups that enter the works have the rights to exhibit them, as well as the authorization to collect the award in the case of collective authorship. In any case, the organization is exempt from any liability that may derive from the infringement of this basis.
SELECTION
The complete list of selected works, as well as their nominations, will be published for the information of all participants, both on the festival's website and Facebook profile and through the Festhome platform.
The festival organizers will contact the selected films to inform them of the technical requirements and to send the screening copies. This contact will only be made individually to the email address indicated on the registration form (details of the presenter of the film).
In order to facilitate the presence at the closing gala of the director, producer or nominee of each of the nominated works, the festival will cover the cost of accommodation in a double room and 4-star hotel for the day of the gala. The invitation includes accommodation with breakfast in a double room, not including additional meals or other services
Should any of the guests be interested in reserving additional days, they must inform the festival organization with due notice. The cost of these additional days at a special reduced price must be paid directly to the hotel by those interested.
The invitation ONLY grants accreditation for 2 representatives of each selected paper, including access to the closing ceremony and the cocktail party after it.
In the case of works with several nominations, the festival will study the possibility of granting more accreditations depending on availability, with a limit of 4 accreditations per selected work, starting from 2 and independently of the total number of nominations received.
Travel will not be covered by the festival, however, a pick-up and drop-off service will be provided to the hotel on the day of arrival, as well as on the day of the march. All other travel will be at the guests' own expense, unless otherwise indicated by the festival organizers.
The festival will issue selection and nomination certificates, as well as official invitations for those foreign guests who require such documentation for the issuing of travel visas.
JURY
A jury made up of 7 members of the regional, national and international film world, with representatives of professional associations such as AMAE, CIMA, LaPacca, as well as non-professional groups, ACUCA, plus the director of the Piélagos Film Festival, will be in charge of evaluating and choosing the works to be awarded the Dunas de Liencres and Costa Quebrada awards.
ATTENTION
If no confirmation from the participant or his/her representative has been received within 2 weeks of the notification of selection, the work will be eliminated from the competitive section.
The participants authorize the organization to use stills, photographs and extracts from the films (maximum 15 seconds) for broadcasting in any communication and promotional media, in order to promote and publicize the festival.
The presence of a representative of each selected work will be required at the closing gala.
Awards will not be duplicated or sent, nor will it be possible to claim them at a later date.
It will be the responsibility of the guests to inform themselves about the requirements imposed by the health authorities at all times.
ACCEPTANCE OF THE RULES
Participation in the 14th edition of the PIÉLAGOS International Film Festival implies the acceptance of all the sections of these rules, as well as the resolution issued by the organization as a consequence of any problem that may arise, including errors in the communication of selections and/or omissions, and which are not included in these rules.

La Concejalía de Cultura del Ayuntamiento de Piélagos pone en marcha la 14ª edición del Festival Internacional de Cine de Piélagos “Piélagos en Corto”.
CORTOMETRAJES
Se admitirán trabajos de máximo 25 minutos y fecha de producción posterior a 1 de enero de 2022
CATEGORÍAS solo ESPAÑA y solo ficción
1- CANTABRIA director cántabro o empadronado con 2 años de antigüedad.
2- NACIONAL (Solo ficción)
CATEGORÍAS para TODO EL MUNDO
3- INTERNACIONAL (Solo ficción)
4- ANIMACIÓN (Se admite todo tipo de animación)
LARGOMETRAJES solo ficción
Se admitirán trabajos de mínimo 65 minutos y máximo 120 minutos, que sean primera o segunda obra de dirección (ficción) de su director
7- PUESTA DE LARGO (Largometraje Ópera prima, con producción 2021 o posterior)
Para todos los trabajos, tanto largometrajes como cortometrajes, se exigirá subtítulos incrustados en castellano si no fuese este el idioma de los diálogos.
CONDICIONES GENERALES DE INSCRIPCIÓN
• Podrán participar todos aquellos productores o realizadores que posean los derechos sobre las obras que presentan.
• Cada participante podrá presentar tantos trabajos como desee siempre que cumplan las bases.
• Las obras se presentarán subtitulados en castellano si este no fuese el idioma de audio original.
• No se admitirán trabajos seleccionados en ediciones anteriores, pero se podrán presentar trabajos que no fueron seleccionados siempre que cumplan el resto de requisitos de las bases oficiales.
La inscripción podrá realizarse únicamente VÍA ONLINE a través de las plataformas especificadas en las redes sociales y la web en el momento de la apertura de plazo.
La inscripción se realizará en una única categoría.
La selección inicial de un trabajo para formar parte de la programación oficial, y ser proyectada durante la celebración del festival, no implicará su nominación final para la obtención de alguno de los galardones.

El plazo de inscripción comienza el 1 de septiembre de 2023 y finaliza el 31 de enero de 2024.
Una vez inscrito un trabajo a competición, podrá ser retirado del concurso, pero las tasas no serán devueltas.
La organización presupone que las personas o colectivos que inscriben las obras tienen los derechos de exhibición de las mismas, así como la autorización para recoger el galardón en caso de que se trate de autoría colectiva. En cualquier caso, la organización se exime de cualquier responsabilidad que pueda derivarse de la infracción de esta bases.
SELECCIÓN
Un comité conformado por miembros del festival, seleccionará de entre todas los trabajos recibidos, aquellas obras que participarán en la sección oficial competitiva del festival.
El listado con la relación completa de trabajos seleccionados, así como sus nominaciones, será publicado para conocimiento de todos los participantes, tanto en la web y perfil Facebook del festival como a través de la plataforma Festhome.
La organización del festival contactará a los seleccionados para informarles sobre los requerimientos técnicos y envío de las copias de proyección, dicho contacto se realizará únicamente y de forma individual al correo electrónico indicado en el formulario de inscripción (datos del presentador del trabajo).
Para facilitar la presencia en la gala de clausura; del director, productor o persona nominada en cada uno de los trabajos seleccionados, el festival cubrirá los costes de alojamiento en habitación doble y hotel de 4 estrellas para el día de celebración de la gala.
La invitación incluye alojamiento con desayuno en habitación doble, no incluyendo comidas adicionales u otros servicios.
Si alguno de los invitados estuviese interesado en reservar días adicionales, deberá avisar a la organización del festival con la debida antelación. El coste de estos días adicionales deberán ser abonados, directamente al hotel por los interesados. Se aplicará un precio especial reducido por ser invitado del festival.
La invitación ÚNICAMENTE otorga la acreditación para 2 representantes de cada trabajo seleccionado independientemente del nº de nominaciones recibidas, dicha acreditación incluye el acceso a la ceremonia de clausura, así como el cóctel posterior a la misma.
Los desplazamientos no estarán cubiertos por el festival , sin embargo, se ofrecerá un servicio de recogida y transporte hasta el hotel el día de llegada, e igualmente para el día de la marcha. El resto de desplazamientos serán por cuenta de los invitados, salvo indicaciones por parte de la organización del festival.
El festival emitirá certificaciones de selección y nominación, así como invitaciones oficiales para aquellos invitados extranjeros que requieran de dicha documentación para la expedición de visados para viajar.
JURADO
Un jurado compuesto por 7 miembros del mundo cinematográfico regional, nacional e internacional, con representantes de asociaciones profesionales como AMAE, CIMA, LaPacca, así como de agrupaciones no profesionales, ACUCA, más el director del Festival , será el encargado de evaluar y elegir las obras que serán premiadas para los galardones Dunas de Liencres y Costa Quebrada

ATENCIÓN
Transcurridas 2 semanas desde la comunicación de selección sin recibir confirmación por parte del participante o de su representante, se procederá a eliminar el trabajo de la sección competitiva.
Los participantes autorizan a la organización el uso de fotogramas, fotografías y extractos de las películas (máximo 15 segundos ) para su difusión en cualquier soporte de comunicación y promoción, a fin de promover y difundir el festival.
Se requerirá la presencia de un representante de cada trabajo seleccionado en la gala de clausura.
Los galardones no retirados permanecerán en poder en la organización. No se realizarán duplicados o envíos de galardones, ni será posible reclamarlos con posterioridad.
Será responsabilidad de los invitados, el informarse sobre los requerimientos que las autoridades sanitarias impongan en cada momento.
ACEPTACIÓN DE LAS BASES
La participación en el 14ª edición del Festival Internacional de Cine de PIÉLAGOS implica la aceptación de todos los apartados de las presentes bases, así como la resolución que por parte de la organización se emita como consecuencia de cualquier problema que se plantee, incluidos los errores en la comunicación de selecciones y/o omisiones, y que no estén recogido en ésta bases.
