XVI Piélagos Short Film Festival "Piélagos en Corto"

The Piélagos City Council presents the 16th edition of its film festival, a showcase for local and international talent.

With competitive categories for Cantabria, Spain, International, and the UNESCO Costa Quebrada Geopark, the event celebrates the best in short films (fiction, up to 30 minutes).

Selected films will compete for awards including Best Cantabrian, National, and International Short Film, along with technical recognitions and the prestigious Geopark Award, honoring works connected to this natural heritage.

Submissions open until December 20, 2025 via Festhome and FilmFreeway. The 2026 closing gala will feature screenings, professional meetings, and accommodation for nominees.

XVI Festival de Cortometrajes de Piélagos "Piélagos en Corto"

El Ayuntamiento de Piélagos presenta la 16ª edición de su festival de cine, un escaparate para el talento local e internacional. Con categorías competitivas para Cantabria, España, Internacional y el Geoparque UNESCO Costa Quebrada, el evento premia lo mejor del cortometraje (ficción, hasta 30 minutos).

Los seleccionados optarán a galardones como Mejor Corto Cántabro, Nacional o Internacional, además de reconocimientos técnicos y el prestigioso premio Geoparque, que destaca obras vinculadas a este patrimonio natural.

Plazo de inscripción abierto hasta el 20 de diciembre de 2025 a través de Festhome y FilmFreeway. La gala final, en 2026, incluirá proyecciones, encuentros profesionales y alojamiento para nominados.

    Well these guys blew us away with their passion for our film and their hospitality! We were so happy to win Best International Short, Best Screenplay and Best Director for THE STUPID BOY, which helped us realise why they were so insistent that we take up their generous offer of 2 nights at a 4 star Hotel on the coast! It was such a thrill for our actor Derek Elroy to be there and enjoy the fantastic event, with a proper awards gala. A very special experience indeed. It makes such a difference when festivals care enough to want to celebrate their filmmakers with a proper event and physical awards. ¡Muchisimas gracias otra vez a todo el equipo!
