LIVE EVENT DATES: NOVEMBER 15 - NOVEMBER 22, 2024

Join the passionate and purpose-driven ETHOS Film Awards team of Hollywood industry professionals, including our partner film-festivals, like The Newsfest, Conquering Disabilities with Film, Filmmakers Alliance, as well as the Artist Emerged and the ETHOS Film Institute 501(c)(3), at the ETHOS Film Awards International Film Festival for its 6th edition. Founded by producers, directors, and actors, our festival celebrates courageous talent and takes place annually in Santa Monica each November.

Our festival showcases purpose-driven films that promote peace, diversity, inclusion, and environmental sustainability, which we believe are crucial to conceptualizing a vision for a better future. We see the art of film and storytelling as a sacred process that transcends all cultures and languages.

We accept all genres and lengths, be it fiction, documentary, action, adventure, comedy, sci-fi, thrillers, horror, documentaries, and experimental projects, as long as they promote a message that furthers a better tomorrow. We celebrate inclusion, diversity, and accept films from underrepresented voices such as the neuro-diverse and disability community, people of color, women, voices for peace, mental health, and the protection of families, children, and animals, as well as environmental activists.

Our 7-day live event in Santa Monica offers highly educational panels about urgent topics that affect humanity and our planet, including the business aspects of the film industry. We provide a platform for filmmakers from different parts of the world to showcase their work, creating a global community of purpose-driven filmmakers.

All finalists will screen during our 7-day live event at our iconic partner venues, including the Broad Stages, Laemmle Monica Film Center, the Center for Design and Media, the Santa Monica College Public Policy Institute, and the Annenberg Community Beach Center, right at the Santa Monica beach front.

Previous lineups include industry powerhouses such as Meg Fauve, Barnet Bain, Ted Baehr, Rodo Sayaquez, Cindy Cowan, James Keach, Kay Sumner, Sandi Bachom, Marie Diamond, Henry Jaglom, Claire Hasood, Lewis Teague, and many more.

The ETHOS Film Awards International Film Festival and the ETHOS Film Institute 501(c)3 are dedicated to educating, empowering, and inspiring purpose-driven filmmakers worldwide who create impactful films with messages for a better future. We value the educational aspect of our work and have partnered with the Santa Monica College Public Policy Institute and their renowned ancillary film program Center for Design and Media to nurture relationships with students and the next generation of filmmakers.

Our objective is to foster conversations and incite action by encouraging filmmakers to create and submit films that inspire change. We recognize outstanding films in various categories and provide workshops, panels, and discussions to provide opportunities for filmmakers and members of the public to engage with each other and discuss important social issues.

The ETHOS Film Awards International Film Festival is an important event for anyone interested in impact-driven film and the power of impactful stories. Our festival is open to all filmmakers, writers, and composers of all genres and lengths - fiction and non-fiction are welcome. We invite filmmakers with a social impact message, be it subtle or straightforward, to submit their films.

The Ethos Film Awards was one of the most memorable moments in my life. Recognizing my Journalistic filmmaking and giving my film a voice, was gift of huge proportions. So it was a gem as a new festival that is at the forefront of purpose, the forefront of inclusivity, and the forefront of change by making a impact with it's mission.
The women that founded it and run It , are committed to making a difference...and they do. I won the 2023 Impact Film of The Year Award for a Documentary that I've worked on for 25 years, this festival I'm grateful to specifically Anabelle D. Munro and Diane Miller. Moving forward has been made so much easier in getting my film recognized! Santa Monica Thank you for giving this treasure of a festival a home. Well Done Ethos!!! Thank you.
