The Virginia Black Film Festival is the premiere celebration of Black Culture through film! Taking place in Historic Hampton Virginia, near the site where the first Africans in English North America landed. The festival features content from throughout the African Diaspora in multiple genre. Screenings for the event take place on the festivals On-Demand platform VABFF Sparq. The awards ceremony is celebrated live in an elaborate gala with food, live music, photo ops and red carpet interviews.

VABFF is open to films with:
Stories the revolve around or highlight Black culture
Films with Black directors
Films with Black lead characters

1. FilmFreeway is the only acceptable means of submitting content to VABFF.
2. By submitting, creator affirms that all respective copyrights and permissions to screen have been obtained.
3. Those projects selected for the festival will be required to upload their content directly to the VABFF Sparq platform in accordance with the file size and type requirements of the platform. Failure to complete this step will result in a "non-delivery" status, meaning the project will still be judged and considered for awards but it will not be screened nor promoted on the platform.
3. All content will be screened on the Miami Web Fest On-Demand platform VABFF Sparq for seven (7) days leading up to the awards ceremony on February 10th, 2024.
4. VABFF is open to films with:
a. Stories the revolve around or highlight Black culture
b. Films with Black directors
c. Films with Black lead characters
5. Acceptance into VABFF is at the sole discretion of the VABFF Board and Selection Panel.
