The International Gastronomy Film Festival 2026 (second edition) is a creative festival that brings together the art of cinema and gastronomy. Beyond the annual event, the festival is a cultural ecosystem active 365 days a year, developed through platforms such as Veri Gurmesi (Gourmet Data), Sine/Gastro Sınıf (Cinema/Gastronomy Classes), and Komşu Sofralar (Neighbor Tables).

The festival brings to the international stage stories of food production, the climate crisis, and local culture, using the powerful language of cinema to build intercultural bridges and foster understanding and the search for solutions to global challenges through dialogue at the table. In this sense, UGFF positions itself as a pioneering model of exchange, storytelling, and awareness.
The International Gastronomy Film Festival 2026 will take place in Altın Yunus Hotel & Resort at Çeşme, Izmir, from June 5 to 7, 2026, featuring a particularly “appetizing” program including: opening gala dinner, non-stop film screenings at Altın Yunus Hotel & Resort at Çeşme, Izmir, Gastro-Cinema workshops, street events and tastings throughout ,official awards ceremony, grand closing party
The Artistic Director of the Cinema Section of UGFF 2026 is Ferdinando Maddaloni.

Eğer herhangi bir milletten bir sinema profesyoneli ya da Türkiye’de öğrenim gören bir öğrenciyseniz ve yemek ve gastronominin ana unsurlar arasında yer aldığı bir kısa film gerçekleştirdiyseniz veya bir senaryo yazdıysanız, bu festival sizi bekliyor.

International Gastronomy Film Festival 2026 (2. edisyon), sinema ve gastronomi sanatlarını bir araya getiren yaratıcı bir festivaldir. Yıllık etkinliğin ötesinde, festival; Veri Gurmesi (Gourmet Data), Sine/Gastro Sınıf (Sinema/Gastronomi Sınıfları) ve Komşu Sofralar (Komşu Sofralar) gibi platformlar aracılığıyla yılın 365 günü aktif olan bir kültürel ekosistem olarak faaliyet göstermektedir.
Festival; gıda üretimi, iklim krizi ve yerel kültür temalı hikâyeleri sinemanın güçlü diliyle uluslararası sahneye taşıyarak, sofra etrafında kurulan diyalog yoluyla küresel sorunların anlaşılmasına ve çözüm arayışlarına katkı sağlamayı amaçlamaktadır. Bu yönüyle UGFF, paylaşım, anlatı ve farkındalık temelinde öncü bir model olarak konumlanmaktadır.

International Gastronomy Film Festival 2026, 5–7 Haziran 2026 tarihleri arasında Altın Yunus Hotel & Resort Çeşme, Izmirde gerçekleştirilecektir. Max duration: 20 minutes. Subtitles: Non-English films must have English subtitles.
Once selected, the short films must be screened with Turkish subtitles.

DOCUMENTARY INTERNATIONAL AWARD 2026
Professional Short Film: open to professional filmmakers.
Minimum age 18 years
Subject: Gastronomy, cultural heritage and memory.
Max duration: 20 minutes. Subtitles: Non-English films must have English subtitles.
Once selected, the documentaries must be screened with Turkish subtitles.

-Gastronomy Screenplay Competition INTERNATIONAL AWARD 2026
Original scripts focusing on the intersection of food, sociology, and data.
Minimum age 18 years
Format: Industry standard (Celtx/Final Draft). Max length: 15 pages.

-Doğduğum Yer - Momentum Mobil NATIONAL AWARD 2026
Youth/Student Mobile Film: open to Turkisch students and no professional maximum 35 years
Max duration: 5 minutes.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
● Subtitles: * Non-English films must have English subtitles.
○ Turkish films must have English subtitles.
○ Once selected, the short films and documentaries must be screened with Turkish subtitles.
● Quality: Minimum 1080p Full HD for Professional category. Clear audio mixing is mandatory.
3. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY AND LEGAL TERMS (Binding Agreement)
By submitting to UGFF 2026, the applicant (Director/Producer/Rightsholder) agrees to the following:
● Copyright Warranty: The applicant warrants that they hold all intellectual property rights (visual, musical, and script). UGFF is not liable for any copyright infringements or legal disputes with third parties.
● Screening Rights: Selected films will be screened during the festival (June 5-7, 2026). No screening fees will be paid to the applicants.
● Digital & Social Media Usage: UGFF reserves the right to use up to 20% of the film's duration (or trailers/stills) for promotional purposes on its official website and social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube).
● Cultural Memory Archive: Selected works will be archived in the "Veri Gurmesi Open Data Library" for non-commercial, academic, and cultural research purposes as part of our "Cultural Memory Standard."
EVALUATION PROCESS
● Submissions are evaluated by a multidisciplinary jury consisting of filmmakers, chefs, anthropologists, and data scientists.
● The jury’s decision is final and binding.
