İdil Berk was born in Ankara, Turkey in 1971. She studied at TED Ankara College between 1977-1988. She completed her undergraduate education at Hacettepe University, Department of Mathematics. Her corporate life, which started in 1992 continued within the country until 2007. Development of the geographical information systems and designing the operational data flow of Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan Crude Oil Pipeline Project of BOTAŞ – BP created the chance to work abroad. After working as an expatriate in the world's largest oil refineries for 10 years, she wanted to transfer her knowledge and experience to the young people in her own country. With this idea she came back to Turkey and developed the information management and quality systems of STAR Refinery Project of SOCAR. Following the completion of know-how transfer she decided to end her corporate life and founded her own software company. She designed and developed projects especially on Augmented Reality for 5 years. In 2021, she left everything and started taking acting classes. Her interest in being behind the camera as well as in front of it, pushed her to try film directing. She has started shooting short films which are written and directed by herself. In 2024 she had an intensive course on cinematography at Prague Film Institute.
