Toronto Indie Filmmakers Festival exists as a result of the minds of a group of filmmakers, producers, and crew members; those who are always looking for new experiences in storytelling and finding answers to the all-important questions of our existence. We have tried to find filmmakers who are always in search of something new. Filmmakers who find new topics to explore and new paths to walk on. Looking at the history of cinema, one can see that this art has been built upon new experiences and if we can be a small candle in this path and help the voices of more independent filmmakers to be heard, then it means that we have succeeded in our job.

Toronto Indie Filmmakers Festival is a place for independent, experimental, innovative, and progressive filmmakers to be seen and to be heard.
Please note that we are an online festival for the time being.

If your film is selected, Toronto Indie Filmmakers Festival reserves the right to use its title and press materials in promotion of the festival on social media.

By submitting a Film to Toronto Indie Filmmakers Festival, the submitter (the producer/director) agrees that they have read, understood, and agreed to the Terms, and obtained consent from any and all owners, creators, writers, producers, and/or rights holders of the Film whose consent is required to submit the Film to Toronto Indie Filmmakers Festival.

  • This is a wonderful and organized film festival with great communication. The organizers are very supportive of true independent filmmakers. Thank you Toronto Indie Filmmakers Festival for including my film Life in America in the festival this year and for honoring it with the Best Short Documentary Award. The poster your team made for the film is awesome. I highly recommend this festival.
