Rules & Terms

📜 Submission Rules & Streaming Eligibility

We welcome all forms of cinematic expression at the Normal Awards Show, but to maintain the integrity of our upcoming streaming platform, please carefully review the following guidelines:

🎥 General Film Festival Submission Guidelines:

Films of any genre, format, or length are encouraged.

Films may have already premiered online, at other festivals, or on platforms such as YouTube, Vimeo, or social media.

No exclusivity is required for general festival screenings.

🌐 Normal Network Streaming Platform Eligibility:

- For your film to be considered for distribution on Normal Network (launching Fall 2026), the following rules must be strictly met:

- No Prior Online Release

- Films must not be available on public video platforms (e.g., YouTube, Vimeo, TikTok, Instagram, etc.) prior to the festival.

- Private screeners for festival submission or jury consideration are allowed.

- Ownership & Rights

The submitting party must be the original creator and legal rights holder of the film.

This includes full ownership or properly secured licenses for:

- All video and visual content

- All music and soundtracks

- Any third-party materials or footage used

Exclusive Consideration

Films selected for Normal Network must not be under any conflicting distribution agreements.

You may still submit to other festivals, but if chosen for streaming, exclusivity may be discussed.

🔁 Summary:

Festival-Only Films: Can be previously released or premiered online.

Streaming-Eligible Films: Must be original, unreleased online, and fully licensed.

By submitting your film, you confirm your understanding of and compliance with these guidelines. This helps us ensure the highest standard for both our live event and our future streaming home for filmmakers.
