"The mission of The HB Film Festival is to put independent cinema in the spotlight that both films and their makers deserve"

Unlike other film festivals, The HB Film Festival will not make any selections until the Final Deadline closes. This means every film that is submitted has got the same chance of winning.

The HB Film Festival brings to Paisley, Scotland, a quality selection of both local and international shorts and feature movies coming from all over the world and aims to become a cultural gathering for film lovers and professionals, to support the creation of networks between filmmakers and the local communities and to initiate inspiring exchanges between filmmakers and professionals coming from different artistic disciplines."

As we are a two day event, we offer plenty of screening opportunities for low-budget filmmakers and indie films. As well as live screening there will be networking opportunities and free filmmaking advice from local filmmakers.

Wasn’t able to attend but wonderful communication and definitely worth being a part of, especially for a festival in its inaugural year. We were impressed.

  • Unfortunately I was unable to attend the event, but the organisers have been fantastic from the start, they have helped to promote my film, The Rage throughout the build up to the festival and have really gone that extra mile to help support local and indie filmmakers. Other festivals should take note. Definitely recommend and i cant wait to submit to their 2nd year. Keep up the great work.

  • A real surprise. For it's first year this festival did a brilliant job. Quality films, great judging panel and a big turnout. Looking forward to seeing it grow.

This truly was a fantastic festival to have been selected for. The level of communication, support and hospitality we received was outstanding. For a festival only in its first year, this was really impressive. To be amongst other tremendous films, screening so close to home was simply a bonus in our overall experience. Huge thanks to Gary and everyone involved in making the HB Film Festival such a success. I am very excited to see what is ahead for this festival, if the standard is already so high. Any film would be fortunate to screen at this festival. It was a joy to attend!

Great first festival from the guys at HB Film festival and great to see another festival in Scotland more aimed away from corporate and more to grass routes. Greatful to have my first feature Noose selected where I got to experience audience reaction first hand which was great. Like making my first feature you learn with hindsight where you could have went better technically and onto the second feature you carry that knowledge. I'm sure next year the minor technical issues where light affected the image will be smoothed over and will make for an even better film festival. Great passion, dedication, great festival. Keep up the good work guys. Thank you from all at team Noose.
