When I think on the difficulty in transforming an established, in-person event into an purely online event, on short notice, with a limited budget and minimal staff I’m inclined to shiver and shake my head. The task was monumental and they pulled off! Congrats T.O.Webfest team! Throughly enjoyed the event! From networking to screenings, many kudos!

  • From an audio drama creator's perspective, I was thrilled when TO Webfest set me up with meetings with prominent people in financing and distribution. It was also really cool to have awards announced by prominent people in the categories respective fields.

That said, it would have been cool if they had a block for podcasts on the streaming site (though I definitely appreciate them continuing with the festival during the pandemic). They did post links to shows in the podcast category on their main site which was also fantastic.

Lastly, with regards to the industry meetings I wish I had more than an hour of notice to prepare for the Ontario Creates Connect event. It was clear this was a very busy team working very hard to run the festival, but registering for the Pitch Pit and Ontario Creates Connect at the time of official selection announcements, then the TO Webfest team selecting creators within a week after that would have been very helpful in booking that time off and better preparing for the events.
