The Art of Movie Making Film Festival, affectionately known as the TAMMIES, is not your typical film fest. This Fest focuses on the artists who create the props, sets, costumes, special effects, and other behind-the-scenes elements of film and television production and is a celebration of the creative and technical work that goes into bringing stories to life on screen. These are the unsung heroes of movie magic who are not usually granted categories in Film Fests.

That said, our festival features a small con where attendees can learn more about the tools, techniques, and technologies used by these artists and perhaps even try their hand at creating some of these elements themselves. Overall, our festival provides a unique opportunity for filmmakers, fans, and industry professionals to come together and appreciate the art and craftsmanship that goes into creating memorable and immersive film and television experiences. Our goal is not only to celebrate these talented artists but also give them an opportunity to gain credibility for their portfolio and get connected to studios and production companies that hire these types of artists and makers for their feature length films.

Our 2nd Annual in-person event will take place at the CNY Community Arts Center conveniently located in Central New York between Oswego and Syracuse on Friday June 9th and Saturday June 10th. Day 1 of the live event there will be live screenings including in-house popcorn and flavored popcorn donated by the famous - Nav's popcorn! The second day of the live event features food, fun, a costume contest, and vendor booths! If you sell your art in addition to making it for movies, join us for an exciting day of celebrating arts and giving demos.

All selected individuals will be invited to participate in our networking brunch with food provided by the onsite cafe. Attendees can opt to come to just the screenings, just the art show, just the costume contest, or all of them! The registration for the costume contest will open around May 1st.

An online event will be held about a month after our in-person event to allow us time to infuse elements and video from the in-person event into the virtual space.

The film screening is free and open to the public. Registration for the costume contest and vendor opportunities will be opening soon.

Prizes will be announced as we get closer to the in-person event and include gift cards, sponsored products, cash, and crowns.

Submission Requirements:

**NOTE** This is not your typical film fest. Because our focus in on the maker's and not the overall film you do not have to share the entire film with us. We will need to see, however, enough of the film to appropriately determine if the artwork you contributed is making the appropriate impact to the entire story - meaning it works, it does what it was meant to do, and it does that thing well. If you have trouble submitting using your Film Freeway project, please contact us.

Films must be submitted via FilmFreeway.
A completed entry form, including a synopsis of the film, production credits, and a still image from the film of the featured artist's work must be included.
A preview link to a secure online screener of the film or clip for festival consideration.

Film creator's works will judged and selected based on:
Originality
Creativity
Craftsmanship
Performance
Technical Execution
Authenticity
Attention to detail
Functionality
Relevance
